Many British Clothing Retailers Sign Children'S Clothing Code
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) announced a code for the sale of children's garments in June 6th and issued a report commissioned by the government to review the commercialization and genre of children.
The retailer who signed the code was originally prepared to help.
Geroge, Next, Marks &Spencer, Sainsbury 's and Tesco
Besides, it includes Debenhams, Home Retail Group (Argos), John Lewis and Peacocks.
The document was drawn up because many retailers were selling "inappropriate".
Children's products
For example, wearing a bra, high-heeled shoes or T-shirts with suggestive slogans.
The code sets out the rules for store purchases for children's clothing, including the styles, fabrics and marketing of all clothing, footwear and accessories for children under 12 years of age, but excluding teenage fashion or baby clothes.
The manual provides that "
Cloth and tailoring must be appropriate and solemn.
Slogans and portraits must be suitable for children's age, without unwelcome associations, sexual hints, undignified, arrogant or political material.
Women's underwear and trousers must be dignified and flip flops are not suitable. Footwear must provide reliable support and heels should not be over 2.5 centimeters, especially for young children.
JaneBevis, director of public relations, said the new code provides parents with additional guarantees that they will be equally concerned about their children's clothes.
Responsible retail retailers first assess the purchase of products, especially children's products.
Buyers will consider the styles, materials and decorations of children's dresses.
Children's clothing must be able to withstand children's play and provide freedom and dignity when running or climbing.
This code will help the public understand the decision making process of retailers.
