How should clothing enterprises treat public welfare marketing?

Micro-blog, Xia Guoxin, chairman of sina micro-blog limited, released 22 points and 05 minutes in May 7th, still has comments from netizens.

This is a micro-blog entitled "Buffett's efficiency view".

"Before charities found Buffett, he rarely donated money, others said he was a fake charity. In 2006 he donated to the Gates foundation 31 billion dollars.

Buffett said that if I donated 10 million of my assets thirty years ago, I would have donated less than 15 billion now.

He knew that money was the most efficient in his hands.

At the same time, he donated to Bill Gates, and found the most competent and trustworthy professional manager to help him do charity.

Xia Guoxin finally wrote, "I really admire Lao Ba!"

    Such a micro-blog has 90 comments.

In his reply to the commentary, Xia Guoxin stressed the two point of "making charity for efficiency". He also expressed his own view on the behavior of charitable figures such as Cao Dewang and Chen Guangbiao, who are now in the community.

In a micro-blog, a garment entrepreneur's reflection on charity draws the distance between the garment industry and modern charity.

    Enlightenment from outside industry

Chen Guangbiao and Cao de Wang mentioned in Xia Guoxin's micro-blog:

The former is the chairman of Jiangsu Whampoa renewable resources utilization company. In the past 10 years, it has made 810 million breakthroughs in donations to charity. It is known as "China's first good". It also announced that after donating all its property, it was more than 50 billion yuan. He was also a practitioner of "high-profile charity".

The latter is China's first and second largest automotive glass manufacturer in the world. The founder of Fuyao Glass Group, two, opened a "charity first": donations of two hundred million yuan for disaster relief and harsh conditions, the first domestic enterprises to donate accountable precedent; donated billions of dollars worth of Fuyao Glass shares, and set up the "river Charity Foundation", becoming the first Chinese fund to be established in the form of stock donations.

The charity behavior of these two entrepreneurs has brought the modern charitable atmosphere to China.

Wang Zhenyao, Dean of the one foundation Public Welfare Research Institute of Beijing Normal University, said in an interview with this newspaper that high-profile charities and the establishment of a family foundation are in line with the concept of modern charity.

Founded in the name of Cao Dewang, He Ren charity foundation is known as the first family foundation in the mainland of China.

Zong Qinghou, chairman of the mainland's richest and Wahaha Group, announced more than a month ago that he would also set up a charitable foundation named after his personal name.

The reporter gathered some Chinese top 100 clothing companies and the textile and apparel enterprises of Forbes and Hurun charity list since 2004.

The AOKANG group founded the Wang Zhentao charitable foundation, many of which were named after the brand, such as the fuanna charity foundation and the Shanshan charity fund.

Wang Zhenyao told reporters that registered enterprises and family foundations are a better way to promote philanthropy. This mode is a modern way of organizing, arranging and designing various projects by professionals, which can promote charity more organically and allow generations of charity to pass down.

These are still strange for the clothing industry.

    Low key work

On the 2011 Annual Conference of China's textile and garment industry, held in June 28th, this reporter conducted a questionnaire survey of 15 of the participating enterprises (see A10 version). These 15 enterprises are excellent in terms of social responsibility and can represent the advanced level of the industry.

The results show that for the "enterprise should be public welfare charity should be high-profile or low-key" answer, 11 enterprises choose "do not deliberately do, let nature take its course", the 4 choice should be "low-key", no enterprise chooses "high profile".

In the "corporate charitable foundation" problem, 9 enterprises said that "their own enterprises set up foundations or heard that the surrounding enterprises have", 6 chose "no".

Zheng Yonggang, chairman of the board of directors of Shanshan Group, said publicly that more than a year ago, although Shanshan had done many charitable deeds, he did not want to report any charitable deeds of Shan Shan because of the complexity of the social evaluation of charity.

JEANSWEST, the protagonist of Tsinghua University's JEANSWEST building recently attracted widespread attention, has adopted a low-key way of dealing with the charitable and charitable conduct of Tsinghua University's teaching building from beginning to end.

Last year, Lin Guofang, chairman of Fuan Anna, founded the "fuanna Charity Foundation" at the Guangdong Charity Federation. This is the first charitable foundation of the domestic textile industry. Lin Guofang also promised to share all his share with his wife in fuanna's charity.

Reporters in the "fuanna charity fund management approach" also saw such a: "for the relevant government departments, institutions, groups or individuals forced the sponsorship, the company should refuse in accordance with the law."

Our reporter has contacted the responsible person of fuanna for several times, hoping to know the specific circumstances of the foundation.

The reporter also contacted the staff of a clothing association in the Yangtze River Delta on the issue of corporate philanthropy. He privately said that this topic might not be very willing to say.

On the one hand, some enterprises are not very good in the first half of the year, and the order in the second half of the year has not yet been implemented. There is "no mind". On the other hand, enterprises will think that too much publicity will lead to various arguments, and there will be many people coming for help.

However, Wang Zhenyao believes that to emphasize Chinese responsibility, we should emphasize the sense of "corporate citizenship" and make a great contribution to charity. We should talk about the impact of social benefits on enterprise management in a large way.

    Two lists

Since 2004, Forbes and Hurun have published their respective Chinese charitable lists, including some textile and apparel enterprises.

In the 2004-2006 years and 2009-2011 years of Forbes China Charity list, there are 20 textile, clothing and footwear enterprises, namely: YOUNGOR group, poly Beijing group, Prince Taizu children's Clothing Co., Ltd., Bosideng Limited by Share Ltd, Dayang group, Red Dragonfly Group, Meng Lan group, AOKANG group, red bird group, Ningbo Dafa Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., Ningbo Shenzhou Knitting Co., Ltd., BELLE international, PEAK group, Guangdong brother fashion, Ordos investment holding company, Tian Shou enterprise organization, Shenzhen fuanna, Longsheng group and Li Ning Co.

In terms of quantity per year, there are at least 4 in 2004, 8 in 2005, 7 in 2006 and 2010, 5 in 2009, and 6 in 2011.

By region, Zhejiang has the largest number of 8, followed by Guangdong and Jiangsu, 3, Beijing and Fujian third, 2, Inner Mongolia and Liaoning 1.

According to the number of selected times, YOUNGOR entered the list in 6 years. Bosideng, AOKANG, dream orchid, red bean and red dragonfly were selected 3 times. PEAK, BELLE and Ordos were selected 2 times.

In the list of 6 years, the best place was AOKANG's fourteenth in 2006.

From the top ranking companies, the total amount of donations is increasing year by year (see chart).

In the 2004-2011 year Hurun charity list, there were 15 entrepreneurs in the textile, clothing and footwear industry, which belong to 12 enterprises. They are: Li Qinfu, Ningbo group, Metersbonwe Zhou Chengjian, AOKANG group Wang Zhentao, Ningbo Shenzhou knitting Ma Jianrong, sun rising group Yang Zhao, Yang Xun and Yang Hong, French dress costumes Peng Xing, Li Ning Co Yang Hong, Jin Ba group, PEAK, Fuan Nu, and Taiping bird group.

According to the number of times selected, AOKANG 6 times, Lining 5 times, red dragonfly and sunrise are 4 times, PEAK 3 times, Metersbonwe, French and strong are 2 times, weaving weaving, Shenzhou, fuanna, Taiping bird 1 times.

Areas of concern are education, social welfare, style, health, poverty alleviation, disaster relief and religion.

Education is the area of greatest concern.

    Still on the way

Everything needs a process from learning to maturity.

From this point of view, the road of charity in the clothing industry is still very long.

At the end of 2006, our reporter participated in the donation activities of a clothing listed company.

In the home of the donor, several cameras and cameras focused simultaneously, and the entrepreneur thrust a bright red envelope into the other hand and was thanked by the donor for the camera.

In sharp contrast, in a room without a curtain, a teenager was sitting at his desk at the back door. He never looked back from beginning to end.

Such a way of donation may be the most forgettable memory for a teenager who is in a sensitive adolescence.

In China, charities are sometimes a grey topic. Zheng Yonggang believes that many entrepreneurs who have been in trouble have been linked with officials after charitable donations, and have gone to power and money pactions.

And he feels that real charity is the duty and responsibility of an entrepreneur and a society.

In a survey of 15 enterprises by journalists, there is an enterprise in addition to the fact that enterprises are not only responsible for public welfare but also the social responsibility. They also choose the need of enterprise survival and help to balance all kinds of relations.

In June 30th, the China clothing association announced the list of top 100 enterprises in the clothing industry in 2010. Among them, the number of enterprises whose sales income exceeded 3 billion yuan increased from 7 in 2005 to 26 in 2010, and 5 of them were over ten billion yuan.

Last year, Wang Zhenyao proposed the proposal of "millions of billionaires to donate millions", and advocated that even the rich and even ordinary people could donate 1% of their income every year.

In the Hurun charity list of 2005, the donation amount of Ao Kang Wang Zhen was 42 million yuan, the proportion of donated money accounted for 6% of the wealth, the contribution of Red Dragonfly Qian Jinbo was 12 million 100 thousand yuan, accounting for 2%, and the contribution of Metersbonwe Zhou Chengjian was 10 million yuan, accounting for 2%.

    Future direction

Liang Xiaohui, the chief researcher of the China Textile Industry Association's social responsibility building promotion office, agreed with Buffett's charitable practices. "His logic is that money should be spent on creating more wealth. When the enterprise develops to a certain stage, it can achieve better results when applied to charity."

Liang Xiaohui said: "charity can not be sacrificed at the expense of other interests, and can not be paid in arrears, and the sewage is not up to standard. On the other hand, donations are made at a higher social cost, which is neither economic nor immoral.

Enterprises must first be able to gain advantages in social competition, protect the environment and ensure the interests of employees. Enterprises need to see if they have room for improvement in research and development, channels, technology and so on.

At this stage, most enterprises in the industry do not have this condition.

Therefore, Liang Xiaohui told our reporter that CSC9000T, a social responsibility system of China's textile and garment enterprises, did not regard public welfare as one of its contents. ISO26000, an international standard for corporate social responsibility, was not included in this report.

"However, I think charity is the highest level of corporate social responsibility, which is also the value trend of entrepreneurs in the future."

    Liang Xiaohui said positively.

Can the "He Ren Charity Foundation" model be replicated in the clothing industry?

    "Very difficult."

Feng Dehu, vice president of the China clothing association, said in an interview with our reporter that he believed that the family charitable foundation was hard to get approval in China, and it took Cao Dewang 3 years.

Among the leading enterprises in the clothing industry, the proportion of many entrepreneurs' personal wealth is not so large, and the enterprise structure is not very stable. How can they consider the foundation in such a case?

"The establishment of family charitable foundation requires entrepreneurs to reach a certain level of personal realm, and the establishment of a supporting system for the whole society. The atmosphere of charity is built by generations.

The first generation of entrepreneurs may not consider it, but the choice of the second generation and the third generation of entrepreneurs will affect the development of the whole industry. "

    Feng Dehu thinks.
