Convention and exhibition planning

By 2015, the total revenue of the exhibition industry will reach 7 billion 200 million yuan, and the economic and social benefits will be exceeded by 50 billion yuan. The exhibition industry will become one of the pillar industries of the modern service industry in the province.

The "one or two and three" Convention and exhibition industry development spatial pattern should be constructed: namely, "one core" agglomeration, "two pole" linkage, and "three belt" development, so as to form a distinct and distinct provincial Convention and exhibition city system.

"One core" refers to Chengdu, which focuses on the development of large and medium-sized exhibitions and conferences, and highlights internationalization.

"Two poles" refer to Jiuzhaigou and Xichang, which are extremely rich in tourism resources, give full play to their advantages in resources, highlight tourism and create a conference destination with leisure, sightseeing and vacations.

"Three belts", that is, the construction of Chengdu plain exhibition city group, South Sichuan exhibition city group, Northeast Sichuan exhibition city group, the key development conference and festival activities, moderate development of small and medium professional exhibition.

This is the development plan described by the Sichuan Expo Bureau and released in June this year, the "12th Five-Year" Convention and exhibition industry development plan of Sichuan province (hereinafter referred to as "planning").

"This is the first time for the provincial government to introduce the" 12th Five-Year plan "for the exhibition industry.

At present, the exhibition industry of our provincial capital is faced with problems such as uneven development, independent brand exhibition, lack of advanced exhibition management talents, and lack of existing venues and facilities.

The plan has fully expounded the guiding ideology, the goal, the strategic intention and the focal point of the development of the MICE industry in Sichuan province. It is not only the strategic plan to guide the comprehensive development of Sichuan's MICE industry in the past 2011-2015 years, but also the action plan for the development of Sichuan's MICE industry in the next 5 years.

"Together with the Ministry of Commerce, China Convention and Exhibition economic research group, a research group was formed. We went to 18 cities to understand the exhibition market, business and industry needs, and traveled more than 3000 kilometers, and held a symposium with experts and scholars from institutions of higher learning."

According to the briefing, the compilation lasted for 1 and a half years, and a total of 14 symposiums were held, and 100 articles were collected from all aspects. A total of more than 60 words and 90 words were collected, providing detailed first-hand materials and basis for the formulation of the plan.

Sichuan Expo Affairs Bureau also actively participated in exhibitions at home and abroad, and formulated the plan based on the understanding of the development situation of domestic and international exhibition industry.

It is reported that the Sichuan Expo Affairs Bureau has organized and participated in the Sixth China Convention and Exhibition International Cooperation Forum, the 2010 China Convention and exhibition industry annual meeting, the Beijing International Exhibition Industry Summit Forum, the Convention and Exhibition Convention of ten years, and so on. It has participated in more than 10 famous exhibitions in China, such as the Lanzhou fair, the energy society, the West conference and so on.

What's the reaction after the plan was put forward?

At present, Chengdu is making preparations for the "12th Five-Year" Convention and exhibition industry development plan in light of its own reality and the requirements of the "planning". Leshan, Ziyang, Neijiang and other Sichuan cities have signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The Sichuan Expo Bureau will cooperate with the local authorities in the development and investment promotion of exhibition industry, the cultivation and exchange of exhibition talents and so on. Ziyang is also preparing to set up second municipal level Expo bureaus besides Chengdu city.

At the same time, the Sichuan Expo Bureau also signed a cooperation framework agreement with Sichuan University, and actively promoted Sichuan University to set up the "exhibition economy and management" undergraduate course. The first batch of students will be in the school year this year.

It is foreseeable that these measures to promote the level of exhibition development, the rational layout of space and the professional reserve of exhibition professionals are bound to boost the healthy development of Sichuan's MICE industry.

Opening up boosts international activities

Changing the "inland province" as the "open frontier", changing the "land of abundance" as the "Tianfu domain" and "the big open Sichuan" is very clear.

As one of the most important departments of opening up to the outside world in Sichuan, Sichuan Expo Affairs Bureau has spared no effort to boost Sichuan's activities of opening to the outside world in addition to focusing on making the West Expo the largest window and the most important platform for the opening and development of Western China.

"Prominent south" is an important part of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government's fully open cooperation strategy.

Through the careful planning and active efforts of the Sichuan Expo Bureau, in April 23, 2010, the Sichuan Seminar on opening up and South Asian regional cooperation was held in Chengdu. Relevant officials of the Ministry of Commerce and all the business counselors of the Embassy in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan and other South Asian countries attended the meeting.

The participants discussed the current situation and Prospect of Sichuan and South Asian regional cooperation, economic and trade exchanges and Sichuan enterprises' expansion of the South Asian market.

The 60th anniversary series of Sino Indian diplomatic relations became the highlight of the eleventh Western Conference in 2010.

In April 2011, a series of colorful economic and trade promotion activities such as photo exhibition, tourism promotion, food appreciation, economic and trade negotiation, and theatrical performances were held in New Delhi, India. The India province is a western province full of development and business opportunities.

In 2010, after actively striving for the introduction of the "APEC" SME summit, which is known as "Davos SME", it was first introduced into Western China and settled in Yibin, Sichuan, to further promote the opening up of our province, especially the second tier cities.

APEC SME summit is becoming the most influential brand of the International Conference of SMEs in the Asia Pacific region. It is an important activity to promote the exchange of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Asia Pacific region and promote the sustainable development of regional economy.
