A Special Report On 32 College Student Volunteers In Donghua

"We volunteered to become volunteers in World Expo, Shanghai. We are willing to devote ourselves to the volunteers in World Expo with our enthusiasm, youth and modesty."

In August 30, 2010, 32 students from Donghua University Raffles School of international design and design were exulting, because they had been formally screened to become volunteers in 2010 World Expo, Shanghai, through a series of screening, and will join the volunteer service in Expo October.

"I will use my generous, cheerful and healthy student image to bring vitality and vitality to World Expo, Shanghai.

With my familiarity with and understanding of Shanghai, I will introduce the beautiful image of Shanghai to international friends.

Liang Xueni, a raffle graphic design major in Donghua, is proud of being a volunteer of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. She will be on duty at the Expo site since October 18th after receiving intensive training with 23 other students.

In fact, as early as May 2009, the students took the initiative to enroll in the World Expo university volunteer activities in Shanghai World Expo on the website of the World Expo. With the support of the school Youth League Committee of the Donghua University, the students have been audited and screened several times. In order to meet the needs of the Expo, the students have been waiting patiently and ready to work.

The other 8 college students were assigned to volunteer stations outside Xuhui District's volunteer cities in World Expo.

"Being a volunteer is something I dream of. No matter whether I work in the park or outside the park, I am very happy if I can help my friends visiting Shanghai with the help of my humble efforts."

This group of young college students born before and after 90s are very different. They accepted English courses in colleges, contacted foreign teachers and foreign students from all over the world, and took part in the practice training of famous enterprises in various industries early.

Innovative courses in design and business make them creative and individual, and also have an international mindset to accept all kinds of culture.

Chang Chi Chi, a business management major, confidently expressed his friendliness, openness, good communication and English speaking skills, and convinced her that he could be a successful World Expo volunteer.

Raffles, Donghua, has long been associated with 2010 Shanghai World Expo as an international school based on Shanghai and Asia Pacific.

In 2008, in order to welcome World Expo to hold the green bag design competition, in 2010, as the official designation uniform design cooperation unit of the Expo Shanghai Pavilion, design uniforms for staff and volunteers, now 32 students are actively participating in Expo volunteer activities.

The Raffles international practice education and localization spirit of service in Donghua is affecting a batch of students who have grown up to meet the needs of society and have a high sense of social responsibility.
