Sichuan's Retail Sales Of Textiles, Clothing, Shoes And Hats Increased By 9.8% In October
Affected by the reduction of refined oil prices and the drop in automobile consumption, the growth rate of the consumer goods market in Sichuan dropped in October. The total retail sales of consumer goods reached 72 billion 520 million yuan, an increase of 17.9% over the same period last year, and the growth rate fell 0.6 percentage points, down 0.6 percentage points from the same period last year. The urban market growth rate has dropped and the rural market has been developing faster. The volume of retail sales in cities and towns was 57 billion 860 million yuan, an increase of 17.7% over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped by 1.2 percentage points from the previous month. The retail sales in the countryside increased by 14 billion 670 million yuan, an increase of 18.9% over the previous month, a 2 percentage point increase from the previous month. The growth rate of the rural market was faster than that of the town 1.2 percentage points. The growth rate of both retail and restaurant income both fell. In October, the retail sales of commodities increased by 61 billion 10 million yuan, an increase of 17.2% over the previous year.
Judging from the consumption of 16 categories of commodities, refined oil and automobile consumption have dropped considerably. Auto retail sales grew by 11.5% over the same period last year, down 14.5 percentage points from the previous month, and oil and products grew by 31.6% over the same period last year, down 15.6 percentage points from the previous month. Consumption of food products has maintained a comprehensive and rapid growth. Retail sales of Cereals, oils, foodstuffs, beverages, tobacco and wine increased by 34.9% over the same period, including grain and oil and food products, 32.2%, beverages 41.8%, and tobacco and wine 38.3%. Daily use and wearing goods slowed down. Clothing, shoes and hats and needle textiles increased by 9.8%, cosmetic products increased by 9.6%, and daily products increased by 24.7%, all of which were down from last month. Housing related consumer goods and gold and silver jewelry consumption grew faster. Retail sales of construction and decoration materials increased by 35.1%, furniture products increased by 21.2%, household appliances and audio-visual equipment increased by 30.5%, and gold and silver jewelry consumption increased by 28.5%.
