In terms of inventory, China's cotton inventory at the end of 2009/2010 is estimated to be 17 million 540 thousand packages (380 thousand tons), with a total inventory of about 20 million 870 thousand packages at the end of 2008/2009 and a sharp decline in inventories.

The quality of cotton in 2009 is better than in previous years, and the output is decreasing.

The average cotton lint is about 38%~39%.

In 2009, the market of polyester staple fiber in some parts of China was weak, the market was sluggish, and the price dropped slightly. This is due to the adjustment of polyester raw material market and the lack of procurement in the lower reaches. After the price loosening, the focus of the market has shifted down, but the downstream market still has conflicting prices on polyester staple fiber and lacks the enthusiasm for purchasing. Therefore, the volume of market has not improved.

The industrial production of polyester is usually terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (MEG) as raw materials, through esterification or pesterification and polycondensation reaction to produce polybutylene terephthalate (PET), and then spinning and post-processing polyester fiber, and then can be processed into yarn or other textiles.

Since 2001, China's polyester industry has developed comprehensively in terms of variety, technology and quantity. According to the data from the China market research and Research Center, the production capacity of polyester increased from 6 million 325 thousand tons per year in 2001 to 25 million 133 thousand tons per year in 2010, with an average annual compound growth rate of 16.57%.

Soybean protein fiber has become a target market.
