How Much Wealth Does Song Meiling Have In His Life: Equivalent To 2 Billion 100 Million Now (Photos)
Song Meiling on the cover of Time
Speaking of the unparalleled Song family three sisters, there is a commentary: "elder sister loves money, second elder sister is patriotic, three sisters love right."
Indeed, how can the elder sister, song ailing, follow her husband? How can Kong Xiangxi, a financial manager of Shanxi merchants, not love money?
Second sister Song Qingling follows her husband -- how can Sun Zhongshan, the father of the revolutionary family, be not patriotic?
Three sister Song Meiling follows her husband -- how can Jiang Jieshi, chairman of the Republic of China and President of the Republic of China, not love their rights?
Among them, Song Meiling (1897 - 2003) has the longest life span and has spanned three centuries.
These three sisters provide endless topics for posterity.
The topic discussed in this paper is a mystery.
wife of Chiang Kai-shek
Lifetime
wealth
How much do you know? Song Meiling, who died at the age of 106, did not leave any memoirs or autobiography.
During her lifetime, Song Meiling was often persuaded to write words or oral history, but she was declined by her politely.

In the middle age, tens of millions of (Yin Yuan) Fu sister Song Meiling is deeply influenced by the influence of his father Song Yaoru's smart businessman and accumulation of wealth.
When he was young, he showed strong political initiative, eager for power and his wish.
After he married Jiang Jieshi in December 1927, he served as secretary of Jiang Jieshi and English plation, active in diplomatic occasions.
She introduced Jiang Jieshi to western culture and politics in many ways to promote Chiang Kai Shek's relationship with the United States.
After marriage, she and Jiang Jieshi two were independent financially and had been implementing American style AA system.
Song Meiling also had a real estate in Shanghai in 1927. It was in the French Concession Xia Fei Road (now Nanjing Road), the dowry that she married with Jiang Jieshi (the property was confiscated by the new China regime in 1949, but it is still preserved now.
Song Meiling has served in the government and Society for a long time, so she has rich personal income.
For example, in 1929, we established a military bereaved school and set up an inspirational society to liaison with Kuomintang officers in cultural activities.
When Jiang Jieshi launched the new life movement, she chaired the new life movement women's Advisory Council.
In 1936, Song Meiling became Secretary General of the National Aviation Committee, and actively expanded the Kuomintang air force.
Song Meiling was also the founder and chairman of the Chinese women's Federation. He later served as chairman of the board of Fu Ren University, chairman of Huaxing nursery, Zhenxing rehabilitation medical center, standing committee member of the the Imperial Palace Museum Management Committee, and chairman of the women's Federation of the Republic of China.
In December 26, 1934, Jiangnan Zheng Bao published the message: "the state power wants...
All the property in the port is estimated to be Jiang Jieshi 13 million silver dollar and Song Meiling 35 million silver dollar... "
At that time, the purchasing power of 1 silver dollar was equivalent to 60 yuan now.
That is to say, if the rumors were true at that time, Song Meiling's personal property has been equivalent to 2 billion 100 million yuan now, which is two and a half times that of Jiang Jieshi.
This data is also seen in the "Cai Yuanpei diary" at that time.
However, it is still acceptable to estimate that Song Meiling's property in middle age reaches the order of ten million yuan.
Song Meiling had no children, nor did he leave any industry in Taiwan and the United States.
In the late years, miss Kong Lingyi, Kong Xiangxi (the eldest daughter of Song Ailing and Song Ailing), said, "only 120 thousand dollars left behind the old lady."
Many of the insiders believe that Song Meiling's image of indifferent fame and wealth has not been fully believed.
But throughout her life, Song Meiling's economic situation still had clues.

(deposit) questionnaire, of which: Jiang Jieshi 66 million 390 thousand yuan (according to the exchange rate of the French dollar and the US dollar at the time, about 8 million 90 thousand dollars, the same below), Song Meiling 30 million 940 thousand yuan (3 million 770 thousand dollars).1939 depreciation of the French currency, 1 yuan legal tender approximately 15 yuan.
Or this conversion - at that time, 1 dollars was about 15 dollars today.
Please note: during this period, most of the eastern part of China was occupied by the Japanese army, and the government had moved to Chongqing.
Song Meiling has only half of Jiang Jieshi's personal savings here.
(but these specific data need to be verified again.
After the outbreak of the Pacific (601099) war in December 1941, the Japanese aggressors took over foreign banks in Shanghai, and reportedly also seized the deposits of "Kuomintang political leaders" in Shanghai's foreign banks.
(3) for the overestimation of Song Meiling's personal property, we should distinguish Chiang song's personal property from the property of the Kuomintang government.
According to historical data, people's daily (January 8, 1990) said that before the Kuomintang withdrew from the mainland in 1949, 3 batches of gold were pported to Taiwan in 2 million 775 thousand cities and 15 million 200 thousand yuan in silver dollars.
According to Li Zongren's memoirs, "according to the report of the secret committee meeting of the Finance Committee at that time, the Treasury Treasury notes were worth 350 million US dollars.
This figure is calculated according to the price of the Chinese open market; if it is in accordance with the overseas ratio, this figure is not the same.
All the gold in stock is 3 million 900 thousand ounces (1 ounces =31.1030 grams), foreign exchange is 70 million dollars and silver value is 70 million dollars.
The total amount is about US $500 million.
Some data say that Song Meiling's personal property at that time amounted to 250 million US dollars (equivalent to half of the treasury stock), which is obviously exaggerated and unbelievable.

Property in the US in 1949
When Song Meiling went to the United States for help in November 1948, he was treated with cold reception by President Truman.
Truman had lost confidence and hope for the Kuomintang at that time. He kept talking with his assistants about the "corrupt officials and bad guys" in the Kuomintang government, and pushed the two families of Komin in the first place. During the war of resistance against Japan, they had made great trouble in developing the national financial difficulties, intercepted American aid, used to set up their own companies, sold American aid materials to China, and plotting their own interests. During the civil war, they repeatedly extended their hand to the US government and put a large number of dollars into their own enterprises. Before the collapse of the Kuomintang regime, they moved the property overseas, especially the United States.
Can this make Truman angry?
When Song Meiling failed to seek help at the end of 1948 and early 1949, she hurried to deal with her private property in the United States and let her nephew Kong Ling help.
At that time Kong family bought a property worth 1 million 500 thousand US dollars.
According to information, Kong song two (Kong Xiangxi and Song Ziwen) mainly used American aid materials and their special ways to speculate in the US in 40s. They were found to have tens of millions of dollars in tax evasion by the US Treasury Department, and they were reported to President Truman.
The joint investigation by the Central Intelligence Agency and the US Treasury found that the illegal property in the United States had reached more than 2 billion U.S. dollars. It was said that antiques, paintings, jewellery and gold, which were unknown to the US bank insurance vault, were said to be frozen.
But at last, it turned out to be a mystery.
The above data can be analyzed as follows: (1) the assets of the Kuomintang government should be distinguished from the private property of the so-called "four big families"; (2) in 1949, the investigation of the property of the two families in Kong and song has been inconsistent so far.

Song Meiling was at the front line during the war of resistance against Japan.
Where did Song Meiling's main income come from in the rest of his life? Before Jiang Jieshi died (April 5, 1975), he would give Song Meiling an allowance every two or three months.
So did Jiang Jingguo after he came to power.
In October 1983, at the invitation of Jiang Jingguo, he returned to Taiwan and published the long text of "I will reappear", helping Jiang Jingguo to appease the senators and military personages in the party, to defuse the resistance of innovation, and finally to open the party's ban.
When Jiang Jingguo died in January 1988, he participated in the arrangements and cancelled the martial law.
After retiring from politics, he reclued in Taipei's Shilin residence.
When Jiang Jingguo died (1988), when Song Meiling and Li Denghui met, they demanded: "you know, when the state is in office," the presidential palace "gives me a sum of money every month. Now that the country has passed away, I wonder if you will still give me this sum of money. After all, Song Meiling should enjoy the treatment of the widow who is removed from office.
Li Denghui generally satisfies her wishes for Song Meiling.
(6) who's a huge amount of spending in the United States? The Taiwan times weekly reported that at the beginning of Song Meiling's settlement in the United States, she had no property in her own name.
It seems to be in line with the actual situation.
Because her life was attached to her husband's family, she stopped managing money.
So how did she live these years? How much money did she need each year? When Song Meiling published the Sino US joint communiqu in 1972, she felt that she had nothing to do in safeguarding Taiwan US relations and pferred her energy to running the industry.
Invest in the oil and natural gas industry in the United States.
In the middle of 1984, the United States International News Agency reported a telegram: "Mrs. Song Meiling of Chiang Kai Shek invested $five million to sign a contract with the Texas Philli Petroleum Company, and to cooperate in the oil and gas exploration near New Mexico."
It turned out that Kong Lingjie was in the name of his aunt.
Besides, Kong and song are a family.
Concentrating on shopping malls is also a helpless choice for Song Meiling to be forced to withdraw from the political field.

After Jiang Jieshi died in April 1975, half a year later, Song Meiling went to the United States to recuperate.
And then stayed in the United States for several times.
For the first time, Song Meiling (1975) left Taiwan for the United States and moved to the old home of Kong family in locust Valley, Long Island, New York.
Only three or three sorties were delivered to the luggage. Only second boxes of luggage were left when leaving Taiwan in 1991.
As for the locust Valley house, a two storey building with a loft on sale in 1998, a total of 3 million dollars, or 100 million NT dollars, was sold.
But the buyers later indicated that they really looked at the calligraphy and painting antiques in the house. According to conservative estimates, the value of those paintings and antiques exceeded the selling price.
In addition, the old lady's residence in New York, Manhattan, was also owned by Confucius.
After the death of Jiang Jieshi, the Taiwan authorities released the implementation measures of the "outgoing president's courtesy regulations" in May 1978, stipulates that the spouses of the "outgoing president" can not only be invited to participate in the ceremony, but also enjoy 2 vehicles and 2 drivers; 3 or 4 persons handling matters and the corresponding paction fees.
Internal and external health care in Taiwan includes all costs required by private doctors and health checks, as well as security guards provided by the "National Security Bureau" according to the actual situation.
According to these regulations, the presidential palace set up a budget of 4 million 160 thousand yuan in 2003.
It is worth noting that, according to the regulations, whether Song Meiling is in Taiwan or overseas, all medical expenses are paid entirely by the Taiwan authorities, and they are reimbursed without any upper limit.
Although she was in the United States, the medical personnel stationed in the United States' presidential palace in Taiwan before the death of 2003 had a salary of at least 50 thousand yuan per month, plus holiday bonus, at least 6 million yuan a year for 6 people.
So in order to take care of Song Meiling, it costs at least NT $10 million a year (RMB 2 million 500 thousand yuan). [Note: at the beginning of this century, NT $4:1, or 100 NT $25]{page_break}.
However, there are also rumors that Song Meiling's life in the United States does not depend solely on the expenses provided by Taiwan, as well as the "secret funds" of Chiang's family.
Hongkong's "Ming Pao Monthly" in the December 2003 issue of "super size" has published an album entitled "Song Meiling's love across the century" on the death of Song Meiling. He wrote that Mrs. Jiang Jieshi, Song Meiling, died in his dream at the age of 106, and has been taking care of aunt Song Meiling's Kong Lingyi (Kong Xiangxi girl) for many years. He told reporters that after he came to New York in 1991, he only asked her once in twelve years: "is there enough money?"
After that, Song Meiling stopped asking about money and left behind only 120 thousand dollars in the bank.
Song Meiling did not have any last word, did not commit to the funeral, and never made a will, just like Kong Xiangxi and Song Ailing.
