US South Korea FTA Final Confirmation Before Entry Into Force

Minister Kim pointed out that the passage of the controversial trade agreement through Parliament is a difficult and politically painful task.

He suggested that the government need to cool down some time before signing other major trade plans. South Korea is now discussing FTA with Australia and New Zealand, and has signed a FTA with the European Union. The talks with Canada have been suspended. South Korea has also launched three trade talks with Asia's largest economy, China and Japan, which will naturally form a policy platform for South Korea to join the p Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership (TPP) negotiations.
