Experts from the inspection and Quarantine Department reminded that some of the imported garments had a high rate of disqualification. The excessive formaldehyde content in the unqualified clothing products and the lead and nickel release in the ornaments were harmful to the health of consumers.

Shanghai inspection and Quarantine Bureau statistics show that last year, the Shanghai inspection and Quarantine Bureau accumulated more than ten thousand batches of imported garments and simulation accessories, and the overall unqualified rate was around 30%, involving 1100 batches of imported consumer goods that were not qualified for safety, hygiene and environmental protection projects, including nearly 700 batches of imported garments and 400 more imported imitation accessories.
