Fuzhou Children'S Clothing Exports Go Against The Trend

In recent years, the European Union and the United States have increasingly strict requirements for children's clothing safety. Children's clothes that do not meet the safety requirements are reported by the European Union RAPEX.

However, at the beginning of 2012, the export of children's clothing in Fuzhou was still under the influence of multiple unfavorable factors such as the European debt crisis.

The Fuzhou entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau disclosed on the 20 day that as of February 15th, this year, the Bureau inspected the 293 batch of children's clothing exported, with a value of $5 million 829 thousand, representing an increase of 56.7% and 41.4% respectively compared with 2011.

Under the situation that children's clothing exports are going against the trend, Fuzhou inspection and quarantine department strengthens safety supervision and promotes the quality of products to improve steadily.

In particular, strengthen quality and safety inspection and supervision of children's clothing toxic and harmful substances, small accessories, strengthen supervision in the source and production process, eliminate hidden dangers of quality and safety in production links, guide enterprises to strengthen quality management, enhance self-examination and self-control ability of enterprises, and improve product quality.

Fuzhou entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau also conscientiously implemented classification management, verification management, pre examination of garment design and other inspection and supervision mode, greatly reducing the on-site inspection time; promptly informed the enterprises of the typical situation of recall by the EU and the United States, and the quality and safety problems that enterprises need special attention, greatly promoting the export of products.

However, experts have warned that the current European debt crisis has not yet been eliminated and the US economy has not yet recovered. The recall of clothing, especially children's clothing, will continue to occur. For example, the United States intends to formulate new requirements for children's casual clothes. Children's sleeping performance standards 16CFR1615 and 1616 are more stringent than those of ordinary clothes. Children's pajamas need not only be tested at the final stage of clothing, but also tested in the cloth and model stage.

Fuzhou entry exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau therefore stressed that enterprises should always pay attention to the new requirements of foreign technical regulations and standards, strengthen quality management, ensure product quality and safety, establish independent brands, and promote garment export and growth.
