The growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) has increased the employment of the clothing sector and promoted the export of clothing from African countries to the United States.

In the first 10 years (2000-10) of the AGOA implementation, 300 thousand new job opportunities were generated in 40 African countries, mostly in the clothing and textile sectors. Cosmas, a /AGOA trade expert at the South African Trade Centre (SATH), said at a AGOA training conference.

    Cosmas said,

    AGOA

Exports will increase diversification of export projects.

In addition to the government's active support, the private sector must also take part.

Cosmas stressed that the people must enter into cooperation and produce more.

In addition, those companies and individual units that export to the US market must understand all goods that are subject to customs duties exported to the United States, which require correct labels.

Cosmas revealed that most goods were denied entry to the US market for lack of labels.

Cosmas also stressed that it is necessary to know the assessment of export readiness before the actual export.

AGOA was signed into law in May 18, 2000 and became the first trade and development act of 2000.

    AGOA

It has provided tangible incentives for African countries to encourage African countries to continue their efforts to open their economies and create free markets.

As the world's second largest cotton producer, India has exported nearly 70% of its cotton to China since October last year, accounting for more than a half of China's imports of cotton.
