    Reporter: what teaching problems have been solved in environmental engineering teaching and personnel training mode with distinctive textile industry characteristics?


    Xue Gang: in order to strengthen students' engineering application ability, we have carried out a series of teaching reforms in recent years:


    First, reform the existing curriculum system and improve students' engineering design ability.

    The teaching of water pollution control course is divided into two modules: "water treatment" and "water pportation and distribution". The typical engineering cases of textile printing and dyeing wastewater treatment are reflected in the teaching, while the teaching of engineering basic ability is strengthened while the professional characteristics are taken into account.


    Two, we should make full use of modern teaching methods to construct engineering simulation experiment teaching methods.

    The simulation experiment system of "chemical engineering principle experiment CAI" has been developed. The computer simulation experiment teaching system of water treatment experiment simulation system has been introduced, and a new teaching mode of "simulation experiment and field experiment" has been established.


    The three is to strengthen students' perceptual and rational knowledge of engineering theory through engineering design experiments.

    Textile printing and dyeing wastewater treatment has always been the characteristic and advantage of the environmental engineering specialty in our university. The engineering design of textile printing and dyeing wastewater treatment material contains more knowledge points and has more exercise value for improving students' engineering ability.


    Reporter: what methods are applied to solve the problems encountered in previous teaching?


    Xue Gang: first of all, we implement the whole process quality monitoring mode for teaching reform.

    In order to protect and improve the quality of engineering applied talents, a comprehensive, whole course and full staff teaching monitoring system, which is composed of Teaching Guidance Committee, teaching management department, teaching supervision and student information staff as the core, is established. It forms a mechanism of teaching reform operation and quality monitoring, which is organically combined with three main feedback links.


    Secondly, we should carry out the teaching reform with the methods of gradual reform, gradual practice and steady progress.

    The curriculum system should be adjusted and supplemented, and implemented in the course of students' professional basic courses and professional direction courses. With the corresponding curriculum design, cognitive practice and experimental links, students can consolidate the theoretical and professional knowledge base in the early stage. In the later stage, the graduation project is mainly carried out in combination with engineering practice, and the problem of weakening engineering ability in personnel training is gradually corrected.


    Finally, guided by the idea of "strengthening the foundation and highlighting the characteristics", we should build an engineering applied teaching and personnel training system with its own characteristics.

    Reporter: environmental engineering has been opened for many years. What is the innovation of this teaching achievement?


    Xue Gang: it is mainly embodied in three aspects: through years of practice, we have established a new method of simulation and design experimental teaching, and put forward a new practice mode of experiment and practice, which is unified and interpenetrated in time and space, and a new trinity teaching mode that combines curriculum design, graduation design and practice.


    Referring to the teaching system of water supply and drainage engineering, this paper proposes that the professional teaching plan of water pollution control in environmental engineering is planned as the two teaching modules of "water pportation and distribution" and "water treatment".

    It is of great reference to strengthen engineering education for Environmental Engineering Majors Based on textile and other non civil engineering related specialties.


    After years of efforts, we have formed a professional environmental engineering teaching team, which is mainly composed of young and middle-aged teachers with senior titles and doctorate degrees, and who are active in the first line of teaching.


    Reporter: please briefly introduce the practical application of this teaching achievement from the perspective of personnel training and discipline construction.


    Xue Gang: in terms of personnel training, since 2005, the reform of the teaching system of environmental engineering major has been gradually reformed, gradually practising and steadily advancing, and the problem of weakening engineering capability in personnel training has been gradually corrected.

    According to the feedback from the Ministry of education of the Ministry of education in June 2010, the engineering ability of our undergraduate graduates has been widely recognized by employers.


    The practice of teaching reform shows that graduates of environmental engineering have gained more comprehensive application knowledge of water pollution control engineering in their learning stage, and their engineering application ability has been remarkably improved. Graduates are welcomed by environmental protection enterprises.

    The environmental engineering major of Donghua University has the basic conditions for further implementing the "excellent engineer" training plan put forward by the Ministry of education.


    In terms of professional construction, teaching achievements, excellent courses and teaching material construction, after nearly 6 years of teaching reform and practice, environmental engineering majors have made remarkable achievements in textbook compilation, excellent courses and teaching achievements.


    The basic course of environmental pollution control, environmental monitoring textbook, has become a classic textbook for environmental majors in universities nationwide. It is one of the largest circulation textbooks for environmental majors. Most universities adopted this textbook and was entrusted by the Steering Committee on environmental engineering to host the four teaching seminar on environmental monitoring. The seminar was held at the leading level of the whole country in terms of content and frontiers. The environmental monitoring course was also selected in 2007, the Shanghai quality course and the national quality course in 2009.


    In the teaching and research process of the basic experimental course of environmental pollution control, the experiment of chemical engineering principles, the system of experiment of chemical engineering principles CAI, which has independent intellectual property rights, has been developed.

    At the same time, we have conducted exchanges with other more than 20 domestic brotherhood colleges and universities to learn from each other's strengths, and have been promoted to some extent in universities such as Soochow University.


    During the period of teaching reform, 11 textbooks were published in environmental engineering.
