New Rules For Strict Fibre Label In EU

In March 31, 2012, the EU published the European Commission Regulation (EU) No 286/2012, the revised regulation (EU) No 1007/2011.

The regulations relate to textile fiber names and labels and markings of textile fiber components.

The revised regulation incorporated a new fiber name polypropylene/polyamide bicomponent (polypropylene / polyamide composite fiber) into the code annex I, and defined the unified testing method for the new fiber in Annex VIII and IX.

Polypropylene / polyamide composite fiber is added to annex I as the name of new fiber. In European Union countries, the label and label of textile products must be used to indicate this fiber component.

Statute (EU) No 1007/2011 is about

The name and textile fiber labels and markings are essential in the protection of consumers' rights and interests. It stipulates that textile products (including the weight percentage of textile fibers at least 80%) and textile products which are inseparable parts of other products, which are included in other products, must be accompanied by labels, markings or relevant business documents when they are sold in the EU market under the regulation.

The textiles that conform to the specifications specified in the 2009 textile directive and put into the EU market before May 8, 2012 will still be available for sale in the EU market until November 9, 2014.

In recent years, fiber label has gradually become the focus of the EU, the United States and other countries to set up technical trade measures for China's clothing exports.

The United States, Japan, the European Union and other countries and regions have promulgated technical regulations and standards concerning fiber component labels. For example, the directive No. 2008/121/EC issued by the European Union has put forward strict requirements for textile fiber names, textile label contents and other markings, such as textile names, fiber contents and labels, the label contents are not consistent, label font is not obvious or unclear, producers do not clearly specify the names and materials of fiber components in the relevant documents, etc., will be classified as substandard products, and specific requirements for label marking and fiber content allowable deviation are specified. It is stipulated that only one textile product consisting of one fiber can be identified by "100%", "pure" and "full".

However, China's related exports

The attention to labels is far from enough. The inspection results of the inspection and quarantine departments in the daily inspection and supervision are not optimistic.

The European Union is one of the largest importers of textile exports in our city, and the Yinzhou region is also the focus of textile and clothing exports to Europe.

According to statistics, in the 2011 year, the Yinzhou inspection and Quarantine Bureau inspected the 42091 batch of export garments, with a value of $916 million, of which 40% was exported to the European Union.

The inspection and quarantine department reminds the relevant garment exporting enterprises to seriously interpret the international technical regulations and standards concerning the label of fiber components, and use the terms and names stipulated in the standard.

At the same time, according to the standard, according to the requirements of exporting countries, we should standardize the identification of export clothing components, and correctly indicate that the fiber content and type, fiber composition and proportion must conform to the physical object, so as to avoid trade risks.
