ISI and AAFA management announced the start of bilateral cooperation.

In the post financial crisis era, China has many foreign trade types. Clothing and accessories Production enterprises have suffered considerable impact. Until now, many enterprises have not come out of this shadow. The international economic situation is still uncertain and not optimistic. The international consumer market represented by Europe and the United States is still in a doldrums.

Under such circumstances, China's foreign trade clothing and apparel enterprises, especially those based on foreign trade processing, how to find their way out, and what kind of channels and ways to get relatively stable development has always been the concern of the industry.

Who will be the next "China"?

In fact, in depth study of China and its surrounding countries Clothing and apparel industry After the development, we can see that the pressure on the export of China's garment industry is not only due to the downturn in the international market.

In May 23rd, the national trade organization representing the clothing and footwear industry of the United States - American Apparel Footwear AAFA (Intertek) and the world's leading test, inspection and certification organization, Intertek iSupplier (ISI), which are developed by the world's leading testing, inspection and certification organization, have formally announced a deep cooperation agreement in Shanghai and will provide value-added interactive tools for both members.

In the "round table workshop" held jointly by both sides, Stephen Lamar, executive vice president of the AAFA, received an exclusive interview with reporters. He said: "for the United States, China is the largest supplier in the field of clothing and apparel. But at the latest stage, due to the consideration of procurement cost, some countries around China, such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines, have gradually joined the supplier team. That is to say, China's market share is declining. Although China's market position has not yet been completely replaced by other countries and regions, the decline in market share has begun to show itself, but this decline is not a sudden rapid decline, but slow.

When it comes to why international buyers turn their goals to other countries and regions, Mr. Lamar said: "cost is an important factor, but buyers consider not only a cost problem, but also many other issues such as industry chain and supply chain. With the continuous development of the surrounding countries, in the current situation, everyone is concerned about such a question - who is the next "China"? This sentence means the next big purchasing base like China, where is Bangladesh, Philippines or Vietnam? When China has become a global sourcing base in the past few years, the neighboring countries are definitely learning and learning from this development mode. Therefore, it is not surprising that buyers from the US and Europe are seeking new partners in China's neighboring countries. But for the time being, no country or region can take the place of China's current position in the international market.

Although in his view, no one can replace the current market position in China, but the fact is that the international share of China's clothing and apparel export enterprises which are mainly engaged in foreign trade is gradually being eaten up under the double squeeze situation in the condition of the weak international consumer market and the gradually eroding of garment industry in neighboring countries. How to enhance our own international competitiveness under such unfavorable circumstances is the goal which many foreign trade production enterprises have been making unremitting efforts to achieve.

Effective way for internationalization platform to enter into international market

Then, how can we continue to maintain sound development under the double squeeze of the international market and the development of garment industry in the surrounding countries, and consolidate our position in the international market share? The mutually beneficial cooperation between Intertek iSupplier Intelligence (ISI) and AAFA, which is developed by the supply chain management platform, has brought about a new market development mode for China's foreign trade garment enterprises, which are facing double squeeze in the international market and export processing.

Under the new agreement, ISI silver and above clothing or footwear suppliers will automatically subscribe to AAFA membership. As an organization representing over 75% members of the clothing and footwear industry of the United States, AAFA's membership service enables suppliers to communicate with more than 900 leading apparel and footwear brands, including American Eagle, Brooks Brothers, Columbia Sportswear, The Jones Group, Nautica, Jones, cable, cable, cable, etc.

On the other hand, AAFA's brand members will become buyers of ISI, using ISI's database to achieve global sourcing and supplier management. ISI provides global buyers with real-time updates on identification information, operation control, production capacity, facility compliance, and product photos to verify suppliers. Buyers can set benchmarks for selected suppliers with their valued indicators, and view and compare their complete documentation when necessary.

Clothing and footwear brands and retailers usually purchase goods from all over the world in order to get the most favorable prices, timely delivery and high quality products from qualified suppliers. ISI can provide information about the identity and production capacity of these suppliers, thereby reducing the risk of selecting suppliers.

"Getting the ISI certification will also become a member of AAFA, which will be very helpful to us products or European orders." Yao Wei, director of Shanghai Hai Ke Garments Co., Ltd., told reporters: "if your product wants to enter the European market or the US market, then an authoritative international third party certification is necessary. Now, through the third party certification of ISI and membership of AAFA, I think it will be helpful for my products to enter the European market and the US market in a large scale."

According to press reports, AAFA will issue new member notices in high value electronic newsletter, and include them in the popular supplier resource catalogue of AAFA, and promote their capabilities to the major brands of the clothing and footwear industry in the United States. Moreover, members can receive AAFA weekly electronic newsletter, get the latest global legislation and management information that has significant impact on the industry, and stay ahead of the law in dealing with closely related regulations. In addition, members can participate in international conferences organized by AAFA to restrict content list, environmental compliance and product safety. In view of the high reputation of AAFA in the global clothing and footwear industry, members can use their logo in business cards and marketing materials, and are more closely linked with AAFA to win more trust.

"If your brand wants to enter the European market or the US market, then if you print the logo of AAFA and ISI on your business card, it will bring you unexpected gains, because in the European and American markets, these two signs indicate that your brand has been recognized by the most authoritative body, which will pave the way for you to enter the international market." Intertek Quilindo William, vice president of supplier management, told reporters.

AAFA's management thinks: "the spanparency of supply chain is the primary concern of the American clothing and footwear industry and consumers. Under the increasingly complex situation of the global supply chain of the clothing and footwear industry in the United States, as a new tool to provide information and information and assist in making correct decisions, the ISI platform will help improve the spanparency and accountability of the global supply chain of the American Apparel and footwear industry. We will guide members to use this practical and effective tool, and continue to work with the industry to develop new ways to promote the development of supply chain. "
