Today, Tan Yanyu is over 50 years old. Although the brand headquarters is still in New York, she travels to Asia every two months. Her loyal fans, from Beyonce to Zhang Ziyi, can not resist the fashion charm of Vivienne Tam.
In China, Vivienne Tam has 5 stores, and in the next two years, she plans to open 200 stores to further expand its business.
She believes that China is a very important market. Last year, the retail sales in Hongkong increased by 40% compared with the same period last year, thanks to mainland China. Tan Yanyu was grateful to see Vivienne Tam growing.
In 2010, she designed a butterfly themed "digital" laptop for HP, and recently she set foot in it.

It was only when I received an appointment that they saw my work and gradually agreed.
Now, China is no longer what it used to be.

I remember everything that went with my mother to the department store in the country. Everything looked like a souvenir. Then I told my mother: someday, I will own a shop where the furniture and fashion items are modern and Chinese style.
Chinese thinking is very abstract, from ceramics, cloisonne, lacquerware to Chinese art and Chinese painting, and even the history of China is full of endless attraction, it attracts us to understand it deeply.
I grew up in Hongkong, and people often say that Hongkong is a cultural desert. I don't think so. It has rich cultural resources. It inspires me, just like Hongkong films, especially films directed by director Tsui Hark, so that I can better understand Chinese history and fairy tales.
In my growth process, almost everyone saw only the advanced west, but my design inspiration originated from the mainland. It was deeply rooted in my heart. From the beginning, I told myself that I would not be anybody, I am I.
