Japan Urfaces US Sandals Manufacturers To Fix Injury Risk
Japan's Ministry of economy and industry 18 asked the US Crocs sandals manufacturers to improve their design so as to solve the problem that the wearers' feet were easily clamped by escalators.
The Ministry of economy and industry said that between June and November last year, there were 65 complaints about Crocs sandals' feet clamped by escalators. More than ten people were injured, most of them children.
According to the survey of the product evaluation technology foundation of the Ministry of economy and industry, the Crocs sandals are soft and some styles are also designed with a belt. It is easy to be clamped by escalators. Crocs website has issued a statement to remind customers to be more careful when they wear Crocs sandals.
The Ministry of economy and industry also urged public places such as shops and stations to strengthen the warning to the public to take escalators.
Crocs sandals are popular in many parts of the world.
According to the Ministry of economy and industry statistics, last year, Crocs sandals sold 3 million 900 thousand pairs nationwide in Japan.
