A seminar on safety requirements and coping strategies for footwear products in Europe and America was held in Dongguan, Guangdong.

This seminar is presented by Huang Ning, senior manager of textile and footwear laboratory at Intertek Tianxiang group.

Huang Ning pointed out that this year, influenced by many factors such as the appreciation of the renminbi, the export growth rate of China's footwear industry is declining, indicating that many shoe enterprises will face a challenge of survival crisis.

At present, China's footwear industry is facing a war of footwear export, which stems from five factors.

First, the accelerated appreciation of the renminbi has squeezed the profit margins of export products, especially the products exported to the United States; two, the subprime mortgage crisis in the United States has spread to every field of the United States, resulting in a decline in the purchasing power of American consumers, resulting in a sharp decline in the number of footwear products exported to the United States; three, rising prices and inflationary pressures, and increasing labor costs; four, the implementation of the labor contract law, which has further intensified the labor costs; five, the global importing countries have stricter requirements on the concept of the quality of footwear products, especially the normative safety testing requirements, which will further increase the quality of shoe manufacturers.

Intertek related people said that shoe manufacturers now face very difficult quality and price challenges, quality is the product's long-term foothold, and only the product's safety and quality go up, can we finally get high return orders.

Intertek stakeholders call on the industry to pay more attention, and communicate and cooperate with the relevant industries, and strive to do 100 percent quality goods this year, and lay a solid foundation for quality and establish a good brand image for the two, 00 and nine years of the footwear industry this year.
