Ningbo Shoe Exports Are Expected To Be Seen In The Clouds

    2008/4/23 0:00:00 10609

    Shoes And Boots

According to customs statistics, in January, 120 million pairs of shoes and boots exported from Ningbo port were 1.1% lower than the same period last year, and the value was 370 million dollars, an increase of 23.2%.

The average export price was $3.2 / double, up 24.5%.

Main features: first, general trade exports account for the absolute leading position.

In January, 110 million pairs of shoes and boots exported under general trade in Ningbo port accounted for 98.3% of the total export volume of footwear in the same period.

Two, the export market is broad, and the EU is the most important export market.

In January, Ningbo ports exported shoes and boots to 96 countries and regions, and the number of exports to 20 countries and regions exceeded 1 million pairs.

Exports to the EU 40 million pairs of shoes and boots, accounting for 34.6% of total exports.

Three, private enterprises are the main export force.

At the Ningbo port in January, 70 million pairs of shoes and boots exported by private enterprises accounted for 58.3% of the total export volume of the same period; second, state-owned enterprises exported 20 million pairs, accounting for 16.7%.

Four, the types of export commodities are concentrated.

The types of footwear exported to Ningbo port in January were mainly concentrated on shoes and other rubber or plastic outsole not made of rubber or plastic outsole and shoe upper, and 80 million pairs and 20 million pairs of shoes exported to textile material upper shoes respectively, accounting for 85.7% of the total export volume.

At present, the export of Chinese shoes and boots is caused by internal costs, external difficulties and difficulties due to rising costs and barriers to trade.

First, the reputation of "made in China" is impaired, which affects the export of cheap shoes.

In the United States and other countries, the recall of Chinese made food and toys has been repeatedly caused by quality problems, which has also had a negative impact on the reputation of cheap shoes abroad.

AndrySualer, head of CalipsoLtd, a famous Russian retail chain, said Russian consumers were also questioning China's cheap shoes.

Two, increase export costs, reduce the competitiveness of footwear products.

Affected by the rise of international crude oil prices, the price of raw materials in footwear industry has been rising, the appreciation of RMB and the shortage of labor have restricted the production of footwear industry. The production cost of shoes and footwear enterprises has increased, resulting in an increase in the export prices of shoes and shoes and a decline in profits. The price advantage of China's leather shoes exports has weakened.

At the same time, according to the regulations of the state's export tax rebate policy, the export tax rebates for 553 products will be abolished from July 1st this year, and the export tax rebate rate of 2268 products will be lowered. This has also brought a greater impact on the footwear export enterprises.

Three, frequent anti dumping abroad, shoes and boots exports are in trouble.

It is understood that since 1979, Canada, the European Union, New Zealand, Mexico, South Africa, Chile, India and other countries and regions have filed anti-dumping charges against China's footwear products.

In March 2006, the EU refused to give China's "market economy status" of 13 footwear enterprises in China.

Since October 7, 2006, the EU has imposed a 16.5% anti-dumping duty on Chinese leather shoes.

Since March 2007, the authorities in Peru and Taiwan have made anti-dumping preliminary decisions on the export of shoes and boots products in China. Venezuela, Pakistan, Israel and other countries have also decided to extend or indicate that they will take anti-dumping measures against our shoes products. In addition, the European Union recently suspected that China's leather shoes are being "exported" to Macao to export to the EU so as to avoid anti-dumping duties.

However, through the efforts of governments at all levels and footwear manufacturers, some new ideas and new methods have been explored to bring a glimmer of light to the export of shoes and boots.

First, open up new markets extensively.

In November 2006, 4 months after the EU's decision on Chinese shoe enterprises came into effect, the China Africa Cooperation Forum Beijing summit and the third ministerial conference were held in Beijing.

China and Africa have in-depth discussions and cooperation in the economic field. During the summit, second Chinese African entrepreneurs' conferences were held, and Chinese footwear enterprises ushered in a historic opportunity.

In recent years, the trend of China's shoe export to Africa is growing rapidly.

Africa has become a new market for China's footwear exports.

Two, export products are gradually developing into medium and high grade products.

Under the pressure of rising costs, enterprises have changed their "good quality and cheap" image in the past, and have been making efforts to raise prices from buyers in terms of quality and design.

At present, most overseas buyers have accepted the "made in China" price increase instead of large-scale pfer of orders to other countries or regions.

Three, explore new forms of development and set up factories abroad directly.

Faced with more and more trade barriers, some big enterprises have changed their minds and directly entered Latin America and other regions to invest in factories.

These areas have certain advantages in resources and environmental geography, and many of them are similar to those in China, which are conducive to the development of domestic enterprises.

At the same time, local factories can evade the anti-dumping policies of these countries, which can be regarded as new ideas for the development of enterprises and even the industry.

After years of development, China's footwear industry still has considerable advantages in industry matching, scale production, workers' overall quality and production technology. The competitiveness of China's manufacturing industry is co created by many environmental factors. It is difficult for other countries to copy it for a time, and for a long time, no country can take the place of China's footwear industry.
