In recent years, the industry has maintained a steady growth trend. The gross industrial output value and exports in the 1-5 months of this year still maintained an increase of two figures, but the growth rate has obviously declined and profit margins have dropped significantly. However, we firmly believe that the first twenty years of this century will still be a good opportunity for the development of China's leather industry. China's goal of moving from the world's leather power to a strong country can not be shaken.

President Chen summed up the achievements and experience of the China Leather Association: promoting China's first certification trademark "leather logo" and "leather logo eco leather" in 1994, the China Leather Association officially registered the trademark "genuine leather logo" in the State Administration for Industry and commerce.

After more than ten years of practice, the "real leather logo" has become a successful model and platform for the implementation of self-discipline and casting industry brand in the industry. It has been widely recognized by the government, industry, enterprises and consumers, and has been registered in fourteen countries in the world.

At the beginning of this year, the English version of the "genuine leather logo" English sign, certificate and "genuine leather logo eco leather" was officially launched, speeding up the process of internationalization of China's leather industry brand.

In 2001, the leather association first launched the "industry standard for granting the honorary title of the leather industry in China" to the light industry. After a rigorous examination, together with the China Light Industry Federation, the leather industry has awarded the honorary titles of leather characteristics such as Wenzhou's "China Shoes Capital" and "Haining leather capital of China", as well as the Fujian Jinjiang footwear industry, Liaoning Tong Er Bao and Henan sang Po fur industry, Hebei Baigou and Fujian Quanzhou leather industry, etc.

Today, the leather industry in China has formed a new pattern of industries with different characteristics and regions, which are scattered and orderly, giving full play to their advantages and competing for development.

Over the years, the leather association has actively developed the China International Leather Exhibition, the China International Footwear Exhibition and the international fashion and fashion accessories exhibition.

At present, the exhibition is already the largest, the highest specification and the largest number of participating countries in China's leather industry. It is also one of the most important purchasing platforms for leather and leather products at home and abroad.

In May 2007, the China Light Industry Federation first launched the "China light industry ten brand exhibitions". China International Leather Exhibition, China International Footwear Exhibition and international fashion and fashion accessories exhibition were on the list. At the same time, as the sponsor of the exhibition, China Leather Association was awarded the "China Light Industry ten exhibitions excellent organization award".

After the establishment of the leather industry early warning system, the leather industry is faced with a more complicated international trade environment after the pition period after the accession to WTO. The leather association has set up an emergency response team to assess the situation.

Since its inception, the emergency response team has responded positively to Spanish burning shoes, Russian buckle shoes, the international animal protection organization anti fur movement, the European Union's anti-dumping on Chinese leather shoes, Italy's toxic shoes and other emergencies.

This year, the Leather Association organized the "EU antidumping review training seminar", providing guidance and advice to enterprises in anti-dumping strategy and technology so that enterprises can effectively respond to the upcoming next round of retrial proposals and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of China's footwear industry.

To host the "world leather industry cooperation and Development Forum", China Leather Association launched and hosted the first 2007 "world leather industry cooperation and Development Forum", advocating "the same world, the same leather".

The world leather industry has me and I have you, forming a worldwide leather industry chain. Europe and the United States have advantages in developing design and sales channels. China and Southeast Asian countries have different advantages in terms of labor and processing capacity, different advantages, different division of labor, mutual cooperation, win-win cooperation, and ultimately achieve the harmonious development of leather industry in the world.

China's leather industry has more than about 5000000 employees directly under the above scale enterprises, together with 11 million employees in the supporting industries, which has made great contributions to promoting urban and rural employment and building a harmonious society.

At present, China's leather industry produces nearly 10 billion pairs of shoes annually, accounting for more than 50%% of the world's total output. The annual output of leather shoes is 700 million square meters, accounting for more than 20%% of the world's total output. Leather clothing, fur clothing and leather goods rank among the world's top producers.

At the end of last century, China has become a world recognized leather production country, and has made contributions to the prosperity and development of leather industry in the world.
