The Academic Forum On Textiles Across The Taiwan Straits Was Held In Songjiang Campus Of Donghua University

The Fourth Three Places Across the Taiwan Straits spin The opening ceremony of the academic forum was held in Songjiang Campus of Donghua University, and more than 90 people, including experts and scholars, outstanding young scholars and graduate students from 13 textile colleges and universities across the Taiwan Straits, participated. Xu Mingzhi, President of Donghua University, attended and announced the opening of the forum. Also attending the event were Yu Jianyong, Vice President, Yao Mu and Zhou Xiang, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Xing Wenhao, President of the conference and professor of the University of Chinese Culture, Lin Jiahong, professor of Fengjia University in Taiwan, and Xin Haozhong, professor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The opening ceremony was presided over by Qiu Yiping, president of the Textile Institute.

On behalf of the school, Xu Mingzhi welcomed the experts and young scholars attending the meeting and introduced the basic situation of the school. Xu Mingzhi introduced that Donghua University is a university directly under the Ministry of Education, which has entered the key construction of the national "211 Project" with textile as its characteristics. The discipline of "Textile Science and Engineering" is the dominant characteristic discipline of the university and also a national key discipline, ranking first in the three rounds of first level discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education. The university adheres to the discipline development strategy of "enhancing characteristics, broadening the foundation, strengthening cross cutting, and developing on demand", constantly expands the field of characteristic disciplines, and integrates textile disciplines with materials, machinery, environment, chemistry, design and other disciplines, so as to promote the practical application of new technologies in the textile industry and promote the development of multiple discipline groups in depth. Xu Mingzhi said that this academic forum, based on high-tech textiles and sustainable textile technology, has attracted many experts and scholars to gather together. He hoped that the participants could take this forum as an opportunity to promote exchanges and discussions, and further promote the development of textile technology innovation and textile industry.

At the opening ceremony, Academician Yao Mu delivered a speech for the forum. He felt that the forum provided an opportunity for all textile universities to share and innovate, and established a good exchange platform for achieving high-tech textile and sustainable development of new environmental protection. He hoped that the forum could further drive the textile industry to take the original and innovative path. Professor Xing Wenhao traced back the origin and development of the textile academic forum in the three regions across the Taiwan Straits. He said that since the first textile academic forum was held, the forum has always focused on increasing academic exchanges between textile colleges and universities in the three regions across the Taiwan Straits, and improving the quality and standard of textile talent training, scientific research and service industries in the three regions across the Taiwan Straits, It is hoped that the textile academic exchanges between the three universities across the Taiwan Straits can be further promoted to achieve high-tech and sustainable development of textile. On behalf of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Professor Xin Haozhong invited guests and teachers and students to participate in the Fifth Cross Strait and Three place Textile Academic Forum held in Hong Kong in 2014.

After the opening ceremony, more than 20 experts and young scholars from three places on both sides of the Straits made wonderful keynote speeches in the "Textile Experts Forum" and the "Textile Youth Forum" respectively.
