There Will Be A Green Channel For Wenzhou Shoes To Export To Russia.

Yesterday, Xie Rongfang, Secretary General of the shoe leather industry association, revealed that the Sino Russian trade Chinese business system service platform, led by the association, has entered the fund-raising stage and will invest at least 8 million yuan, and is scheduled to start operation in the first half of 2009.

The preparations for the Russian trade Chinese business system service platform began at the end of November this year. The purpose is to solve the "grey customs clearance" problem that has been plaguing Wenzhou shoe companies for export to Russia in recent years.

In September 11th this year, Russian officials seized the $1 billion worth of Wenzhou shoe products against the "gray customs clearance", involving hundreds of Wenzhou shoe companies.

At present, more than 300 of the 2692 Wenzhou shoe enterprises are exploring the Russian market, and Russia has become the second largest market for Wenzhou shoe exports.

This platform will operate in the form of a company, but not all shoe manufacturers that export to Russia are involved in the formation of the company. Instead, they choose a few shoe companies to jointly invest in the establishment of the company.

"We do not necessarily choose to participate in large enterprises that export Russian market, but choose to take the Russian market as a survival basis, and have accumulated rich sales experience in the Russian market and are familiar with the Russian declaration procedures."

Xie Rongfang said that after the establishment of the Russian trade Chinese business system service platform, it will provide services to all Wenzhou shoe manufacturers exporting to Russia and become a green clearance channel for Wenzhou shoes to export to Russia.

When the Soviet Union collapsed in the early 90s of last century, Russia was in urgent need of importing a lot of cheap goods, so a large number of Chinese businessmen began to engage in private trade between China and Russia.

However, customs clearance is cumbersome and customs duties are chaotic. In order to encourage imports and simplify customs procedures, the Russian Customs Committee allows the "clearance" company to act as an agent for the importing business.

These companies, together with customs officials, have cleared the entire aircraft of goods by parcel clearance.

Customs duties are usually two or three times higher than such customs clearance.
