Adidas'S Slow Sales Growth Is Hard To Fulfill This Year'S Profit Target.
according to report Adidas (Adidas stores) has more problems than expected in the Russian market and golf equipment business, so Adidas cancelled the established sales targets for this year and next year. The profit allocated to shareholders is only 650 million euros, rather than the previous 8.3 to 930 million euros. The company's sales growth is expected to be only around 5%, lower than expected. The medium-term target now appears to be unable to be reached in 2015.
Last year Adidas's competitor Nike (Nike store) has gained a profit of 787 million euros. In the two quarter of this year, Adidas's sales increased by 2% to 3 billion 470 million euros and earned 220 million euros. In the first quarter of this year, because of the Ukraine crisis, Adidas suffered a rouble collapse in its important sales market.
At the same time, its competitors Nike and Puma (Puma stores) were also affected by the sharp drop in share prices in many countries. Adidas announced restructuring of its global brand and sales department. The new organization will start operation in August this year.
Adidas Chairman Herbert Hainer believes that in the next five years of Adidas's plan, the company's performance in the market will be more aggressive. After clearing some markets, Adidas will more firmly invest in potential growth areas, and its internal organization and management will be more flexible.
