Portugal'S Footwear Industry Is Actively Exploring Overseas Markets
In the past Milan shoes exhibition (Micam Shoevent Agosto 2014), Portugal has more than 100 local shoe brand debut in the exhibition, is the largest ever.

In the first half of 2014, the growth rate and export volume of Portuguese exports to the following countries were respectively: Russia increased by 12%, exports increased to 19 million euros; the United States increased by 92% to 21 million euros; Canada increased 30% to 9 million euros; China increased 101% to 3 million euros; Saudi Arabia increased 19% to 3 million euros.
At present, the Portuguese footwear industry's export strategy is to expand the new market and increase the export share of the non EU market, so that it will achieve 20% of the total export volume in 2020.
Portugal can be said to be a large shoemaking factory. Its slogan is "The Sexiest Industry in Europe". 95% of the shoes produced by the factory are exported, and the annual export volume is as high as 1 billion 700 million euros.
According to statistics from the Portuguese Shoe Association, a total of 35044 employees participated in the footwear industry at the end of 2013 (2013 stores), 420 more than in 2012, and more than 600 new jobs were created in 2013.
These jobs offer Portuguese employment opportunities and make a contribution to the Portuguese economy. Many brands have contributed to this.
The Portuguese footwear association pointed out that the Portuguese shoe brands should improve their resilience and strive to expand overseas markets.

It is understood that Portugal is the fourth largest footwear exporter in Europe after Italy, Spain and Belgium, with over 95% of its output for export.
