Xiaobian network to introduce the RFID technology helps clothing store inventory.

Retailer Chico's 13 Soma underwear store has completed a one year RFID trial run.

At present, the company intends to permanently use the system and integrate with the POS system.

At the same time, the company also intends to extend the application scope of this solution.

Tyco sales and strategic customer division manager Jamie Kress said the pilot RFID program was provided by Tyco.

The scheme can achieve project level tracking from the distribution center, storehouse and store site to the weekly inventory process.

At the same time, the Tyco TrueVue software stored on the server can manage the collected data, judge the missing stock and monitor the movement of goods in the store.

Chico was founded in 2004 and has 4 women's wear brands including Soma underwear.

In 2010, the company adopted RFID technology for the first time.

At that time, the company attached a passive EPC Gen 2 UHF tag on the sample clothing to achieve item tracking during clothing inspection.

These samples will eventually be sold to staff at a shop in Fort Meyers headquarters.

Kress added that in 2011, Chico began collaborating with Tyco to try the technology in stores.

The company attaches labels on the items, and installs readers in the sales floor and warehouse.

In this way, the company can realize the management of the goods in the sales area and ensure the timely display of the samples.

After the project was completed, the company deployed the RFID system inside the Soma store in Naples, and selected some experienced staff.

In 2013, the company deployed the system in 12 other stores and appointed the team leader to check the pilot results.

Due to the diversity of styles, sizes and colors of bra, underwear and so on, Soma has been facing difficulties in inventory tracking.

Before the RFID system was installed, Soma only had several inventory checks per year.

Therefore, it is very difficult to ensure inventory at the sales site.

Incoming management is another time consuming task.

When the goods arrive at the warehouse, the employees need to open each case to distinguish the model and decide whether to send it directly to the sales area.

Chico says the RFID system has made this task simpler than ever.

Before moving to these 13 stores, the company attached Denison's AD-318 tag to the clothes.

These RFID tags are printed and coded by the Denison 9855RFMP RFID printer.

At the same time, the TrueVue software will record the unique ID number on each label and display the destination.

When the goods arrive at the store, the staff can use the MC3190-Z reader to capture the ID number in the box.

At the same time, the reader can use this reader to carry out weekly inventory check.

In addition, the staff can use the reader Geiger counter mode to help customers find specific models or styles of goods.

The FX7400 reader is also installed at the cashier's office to mark items.

    purchase

    And update TrueVue software information.

At the same time, store personnel and company management can also check the inventory level on TrueVue to determine whether replenishment is needed.

In addition, the company also installed a reader at the outlet to obtain ID information of the store.

If the item is not purchased, the system will identify this information and issue an alarm.

Kress says the system is currently used on all 13 clothes.

Each store will conduct weekly stock taking and inventory accuracy of 90%-95%.

Next year, the company intends to integrate TrueVue and Soma's POS system.

In this way, the company can achieve more automated inventory management.

Kress added that the company also intends to popularize the system to other Soma stores in 2015-2016 years.
