A Man In New York Sends Free Shoes To Tramps For 3 Years And Sends 5000 Pairs.
International Online Zhuangao: according to the US Odditycentral website reported on December 2nd, New York 40 year old man Andre Mcdonnell (Andre McDonnell) used his spare time to send free shoes to tramps. Through Mcdonnell's own charity organization, he released more than 5000 pairs of shoes in less than 3 years.
Mcdonnell's idea is simple: he collects new or used sports shoes by receiving donations, then cleans them and sends them out. Macdonald spends 50 to 60 dollars on cleaning donated shoes every week at a laundromat, which is about 308 yuan to 369 yuan. After the shoes were cleaned, Mcdonnell went to Grand Central Station and Union Square everyday and sent them to the tramp personally. Mcdonnell took photos with the hobo who took the shoes every time, then sent the photos to people who donated shoes by e-mail. He also sent photos to Instagram, which now has more than 2000 followers.
It all started 3 years ago when Mike was playing basketball with his friends. He recalled, "I saw a tramp without shoes, so I left the court and took off his shoes. He put on his shoes with a smile on his face. When I was barefoot on the gravel, I suddenly realized that I could do more. "
Mcdonnell said, "I always keep my heart good. If I see a hobo hungry, I will not give them money, and I will take them to eat." I feel the best time is when the tramp gets the shoes I give them, they are very happy, that makes their walking life easier.
Mcdonnell also established a charity organization called "It 's From the Sole", and accepted more than 5000 donations and donated two pairs of shoes. Over time, Mcdonnell has pushed this kind of charity to other countries and cities, such as Philadelphia and even Paris. He also donated food, clothes, pillows and other things. Mcdonnell's motto is simple: "this is a meaningful little thing."
