Fashion: The Latest Interview With Lord Buddha

    2015/3/17 18:31:00 19

    BuddhaDesignerEntrepreneurship

Coincides with the cooperation between Lagerfeld and Fendi 50th anniversary, which is also the longest time for a designer to cooperate with luxury brands.

On the occasion of the release of the advanced custom fur show, the US media conducted an exclusive interview with Lagerfeld, and some interesting dialogues were compiled as follows:

It has been a long time to work in a company for 50 years. Have you ever thought back of your career in Fendi in the past 50 years?

    No.

    I never do that.

    Is that right?

    fashion

    The secret of longevity?

I never look for inspiration in the past.

Sometimes my attitude is "pretty good" when someone will say, "you said so twenty or thirty years ago."

Perhaps I have said so - I have forgotten all about it.

As long as you are in the fashion industry, you can't always think about what you have done.

Germany has held a large-scale exhibition, displaying all the works I have done for Brand Company such as Fendi, Chanel, Lagerfeld, Chlo et al, but I will not go because I do not care.

Never think the past is pressure for you?

    (

    Fashion circle

    There is no history.

I didn't achieve much in the past. I didn't keep anything.

I like to do it, not what I have done and what I can do to excite me.

When people begin to think about what they have done in the past and may be better than what they are doing, they should stop this idea immediately.

Many of my colleagues have made achievements. They look at the works narcissistic as if they were Rembrandt, please forget what they have done.

    Hold?

    Gao Ding fur Exhibition

Where did the idea come from?

I don't remember where the inspiration came from, maybe it's me.

And I think if people eat meat and fur clothes, it's hard to say what's wrong with fur.

It's easy for a person to say "boycott fur", but this is an industry.

And if it really resists fur, who will pay for those laid-off workers?

What is the attitude towards fur resistance?

I hate killing animals in inhumane ways, but I think there has been a lot of improvement in this area. I think meat shops are more scary. It's like visiting a slaughterhouse.

Will fur making be too monotonous?

No, look at how you make use of it. That's my job.

I know the technology and materials, though it has been useless for a long time, it will be interesting to find new uses.

I hope I have enough fresh ideas to finish the fur customization.

Do you have a sense of humor? Does fashion need a sense of humor?

I think I have, but I think most designers are not very smart and humorous. They are very cautious because they want to be an artist.

I think we are craftsmen and belong to the art of "applied".

If you want to make art, go to the gallery to do the exhibition.

Don't you consider yourself an artist?

    Of course not.

I am a designer, I can photograph, publish books, I am a publisher, but I will not call myself "artist", this is too arrogant.

If others say so, it is flattery. If you really say it yourself, it's really not reliable.

Speaking of photography, you've done works for Fendi, Chanel, Dior Homme and some magazines. Why? Why? Is it interesting or is it just a different job?

First of all, I would never do it without interest.

Secondly, photography is also very important.

If you only design, you will be confined to the ivory tower.

This is not only boring but also benign development.

I can no longer enjoy free activities in the streets, so I need to do something else.

Will you pay attention to other designers or competitors?

Yes, I will pay attention to many things, but I do not think it is a competition.

I prefer to work with (equally excellent) designers in comparison with three level people, which will make me better.

Speaking of the exquisite workmanship, the best thing for me is Dior and Givenchy. There is no Chanel here, because Chanel has the largest scale of operation, and there are 250 employees involved in the whole design process.

I will not comment on other brands - I am not a fashion journalist.
