China's textile industry's "going out" exchange conference held on the occasion of the "complex situation" at home and abroad shows that the pnational layout of Chinese textile enterprises is accelerating.
Wang Tiankai said that since the reform and opening up, especially since China's accession to the WTO, China's textile industry has seized the opportunities and made great achievements. Recent surveys of 40 brand clothing companies in the US and Europe show that Bangladesh, Vietnam, India, Burma and Turkey have become the preferred places for clothing procurement pfer. For China, the latter advantages of these countries should not be underestimated.
"In order to cope with many challenges at home and abroad, create new international competitive advantages and sustainable development capabilities, the layout of China's textile industry has been accelerating in recent years." Wang Tiankai said: "one main line is to take industrial capital as the leading factor, and to carry out the pnational layout of productive forces through cooperation so as to create a manufacturing base layout mode of" China plus neighboring countries "; another main line is that industrial capital will be vertically extended and controlled over the global range of high quality raw material resources, design innovation resources, brand resources and market channel resources through overseas direct investment and mergers and acquisitions, so as to drive the industry to infiltrate into the high value-added field of the industrial value chain.
Wang Tiankai believes that 2015 is a very important year for China's textile industry's external investment. The "one belt and one way" strategy, as a major political and economic decision made by China, is fully in line with the historical process of the pnational resetting of some of the textile and garment production capacity, and provides a good opportunity for the enterprises to better carry out the international layout.
A group of "go out" enterprises shared various overseas channels at the exchange conference, including the Shandong Ruyi technology group, which has 13 brand garment manufacturing enterprises abroad, set up 12 Jiangsu (wholly foreign owned) factories, and Dong Tai textile group outside the country, as well as the Rutai group, which built high plants in Vietnam, Kampuchea, Burma and other countries.
According to incomplete statistics of China's Ministry of Commerce, as of the end of 2014, 802 enterprises of China's textile and apparel enterprises set up overseas, and the total foreign direct investment stock amounted to 4 billion 10 million US dollars.
In 2014, foreign direct investment (FDI) amounted to US $810 million, operating income of US $7 billion 50 million, and 92 thousand employees at the end of the year.
