The War Between Amazon And WAL-MART Has Risen To The Top Of The Cloud.

The war between WAL-MART and the largest retailer in the world has been extended to the cloud.
According to several technology companies, WAL-MART has clearly told some technology companies that if they want to get WAL-MART's business, they can not run applications for WAL-MART in Amazon's cloud computing service AWS.
Amazon becomes
cloud computing
The leading businesses in the service sector are at a disadvantage to other business competitors originally dependent on Amazon's cloud services, such as video streaming service provider Netflix.
WAL-MART, who does not want to deliver any business to Amazon, says that most of the company's data is still stored in its own servers, and uses Amazon AWS's competitors' services, such as Microsoft's Azure.
WAL-MART spokesman Dan Topole (Dan Toporek) said WAL-MART used some cloud apps that run on AWS technology companies.
However, he refused to disclose the names of these applications and would not disclose their numbers.
But the spokesman also acknowledged that WAL-MART is indeed promoting the use of AWS alternative services.
"If we don't want to store the most sensitive data on our competitors' platforms, this approach will not be too surprising," he said.
"The number is very limited," the spokesman added.
But Amazon spokesman said WAL-MART's move was aimed at "intimidating" technology providers.
"A strategy like this is not good for businesses and consumers," she said.

Bob Muglia, chief executive of data warehouse service provider Snowflake Computing (hereinafter referred to as "Snowflake"), said that one of WAL-MART's suppliers had approached Snowflake in dealing with WAL-MART business problems, but the problem was that Snowflake wanted to get the business order and had to run these services on Azure. Bob,
"WAL-MART is affecting the company's suppliers, which will affect us."
Microsoft, a former Microsoft executive, said Snowflake had been developing Azure based services in the past, but WAL-MART accelerated the process.
Eventually, Snowflake obtained business orders from WAL-MART's supplier.
According to technical suppliers who work with retailers, other retailers have also raised the same problem with WAL-MART, that is, service providers must not use AWS services.
"Retailers are very special at present, some of them are more special," said Kevin Kevin, chief executive officer of Adroit Worldwide Media, a retail technology provider.
"Some retailers have made clear requests for us to use Azure services," but did not disclose specific names.
Amazon said many retailers competing with the company used AWS services, such as game retailer GameStop.
Wal-Mart
The battle with Amazon has lasted for many years.
Last week, Amazon announced an unexpected market announcement that it would spend $13 billion 700 million to buy organic food chain supermarket full food supermarket, which would bring the deal to the fresh market.
Prior to this, Amazon has repeatedly tested water network fresh business, and launched an impact on WAL-MART.
Recently, Amazon has also lowered the annual fee standard for "gold medal members" to users who receive government assistance, aiming at targeting WAL-MART's sphere of influence.
The dispute between WAL-MART and Amazon's cloud computing is mainly aimed at the financial advantages brought by AWS to Amazon.
Although Amazon's online retail business is smart enough to get a small profit, AWS can get huge profits.
In the first quarter of this year, even Amazon AWS's revenue amounted to $3 billion 660 million, occupying only 10% of Amazon's overall revenue, and its operating profit also amounted to $890 million, occupying 89% of the company's overall operating profit.
But Amazon spokesman said that AWS's view of supporting Amazon's retail business is untenable because the North American retail business of the company has achieved operating profit.
Although WAL-MART's efforts are unlikely to inhibit the development of AWS, it will promote the development of AWS competitors.
"People are always rushing to do business with WAL-MART," said Robert Hetu, an Gartner analyst at market research firm. Robert Khtu said.
"WAL-MART's practice will certainly enhance the competitiveness of Azure."
As a beneficiary, Microsoft has acknowledged this.
Judson Althoff, executive vice president of Microsoft global sales, said: "the push from WAL-MART has been quite stable." Judson, Althoff
Microsoft has been the main provider of cloud infrastructure for Jet.com, a network retailer.
WAL-MART bought the latter in September last year for $3 billion 300 million.
WAL-MART also appointed Jet.com founder as head of its online retail business.
Atov said WAL-MART is currently one of Azure's major customers.
He also said that the battle between WAL-MART and Amazon helped Microsoft get orders from data analysis firms Nelson's cloud business.
"Nelson is a direct customer because of WAL-MART," Atov said.
Up to now, Alphabet has refused to disclose whether its cloud service Google Cloud is benefited from WAL-MART's battle with Amazon.
Lofty Labs, a software development company, has worked with a retail analytical consultant to develop a cloud based analysis tool for WAL-MART.
To get this business, Lofty Labs must develop applications on Azure.
Lofty Labs President Casey Casey (Casey Kinsey) said, "everyone knows that if you use AWS, WAL-MART will not give you the business."
