    Lining Improves Product Performance Through Product Cycle Management

    Chinese sportswear brand Lining (Li-Ning) implements product cycle management (PLM) system to help manage business growth and replace its original management system.

    The company was named after its founder, champion gymnast Lining, and was founded in 1990. Its original purpose is to provide Chinese athletes with Olympic costumes.

    By 2016, Lining had produced clothing and footwear for 21 national teams and athletes of 11 different sports.

    Today Lining's business includes brand marketing, R & D, design, manufacturing, distribution and retailing.

    The company implemented the PLM solution for the first time in 2009.

    By 2018, however, the technology and functions of the system were outdated.

    Lining's business growth starts with focusing on consumer demand, but traditional production methods can no longer meet fast changing consumer needs and new product development models, such as more flexible supply chains and e-commerce.

    Lining IT system director Zhu Yuangang said: Centric PLM is powerful and easy to use.

    The system not only covers the core processes of the product, including planning, design and development, fabric and accessory management, including cost and quality control, but also flexible and extensible, which can effectively meet the needs of Lining brand.
