Since 2011, the overall trend of energy consumption in cotton textile industry has remained unchanged. The proportion of total energy consumption in the whole country has been decreasing year by year, and in 2017 it accounted for 0.56% of the country's total energy consumption. The comprehensive energy consumption of yarn and cloth in tracking enterprises is basically the same as that in the cotton textile industry. The overall energy consumption of tracking enterprises is lower than the average energy consumption of the whole industry.


In 2019, the "cotton textile industry energy saving and emission reduction technology and project" collection activities were launched. After the procedures of reporting projects for enterprises were summarized, the "China cotton textile industry energy saving and emission reduction technology and innovative application directory" (the Seventh Batch) was identified. 19 of them were selected for energy saving and emission reduction innovative application technology, 2 technologies were selected for energy saving and emission reduction recommendation technology, and 10 cotton textile enterprises were commended for their innovation in the field of energy conservation and emission reduction in 2019.
