Lanxi Research: Promote Textile Intelligent Manufacturing And Enhance Enterprise Competitiveness

On the 19-22 th of November, the staff of the Sino Cotton Association sent a survey in Lanxi, Zhejiang. Accompanied by the Lanxi Municipal Bureau of letters, they visited the local cotton textile enterprises on the spot.

As a "famous weaving city in China", Lanxi is one of the important cotton textile industrial clusters in China. There are more than 120 Textile Enterprises above Designated Size in Lanxi. The annual output of shuttle weaving is more than 2 billion meters. The products are mainly made of white grey cloth and denim. Lanxi's cotton textile industry occupies an important position in the whole country. As of 2018, nearly 10 Lanxi enterprises ranked top 100 in the competitiveness of the cotton textile industry.

In recent years, the Lanxi municipal government has increased support and support for the textile industry, and has provided comprehensive services to industries and enterprises. Special funds have been set up to help enterprises in intelligent transformation. Textile enterprises dig deep management, strengthen research and development, improve product quality and grade, and have achieved certain results in reducing costs and energy saving and emission reduction.

Judging from the operation of the visiting enterprises, since the beginning of this year, the overall operation of the textile industry in Lanxi has remained stable under the general market situation. The enterprises have mostly adopted the combination of order processing and regular production, and the stock of the products varies from 10-30 days. The output of some enterprises increased slightly compared with the same period last year. On the one hand, the level of production management has been continuously improved, and the production efficiency has been improved. On the other hand, enterprises have also expanded the scale of weaving capacity, better developed their scale advantages, and at the same time brought about the improvement of output.

In terms of raw materials, due to exchange rate fluctuations this year, exchange rate losses were caused by imported yarn businesses. The continuous decline of cotton prices has also led to a decline in the unit price of woven fabrics.

In terms of employment, the number of workers visiting 100 looms of enterprises is lower than the average level of the whole industry. The average wages of front-line workers are more than 6000 yuan per month. They are still faced with the difficulties of labor shortage. The phenomenon of older employees is widespread, which needs to be solved by automation and intelligent transformation.
