1-4 Vietnamese Textile Garments Exports 10 Billion 640 Million US Dollars To 6.6%
In the new crown, the epidemic is becoming increasingly severe, which has a serious impact on the global economy. In April 2020, Vietnam's total exports of textiles and clothing decreased by 20% compared with March. In 2020 1-4, exports of textiles and clothing exported to Vietnam amounted to US $10 billion 640 million, a decrease of 6.6% over the same period in 2019, and the import amount of US $6 billion 390 million, a decrease of 8.76% over the same period in 2019.
TruongVanCam, vice president of the Vietnam textile and Garment Association (VITAS), said that clothing exports amounted to $8 billion 200 million, a decrease of 5.98% compared to the same period in 2019, a decrease of 11.54% in fiber and yarn exports, and a 22% decrease in non-woven exports. In terms of imports, cotton imports decreased by 7.98%; fiber and yarn imports decreased by 2.45%; fabrics were reduced by 10.99%; and textiles and garments decreased by 5.82% compared with the same period in 2019.
The Vietnamese textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) said that the textile industry's export situation was poor this year due to a sharp reduction in demand for orders from the European Union and the United States. The best export is estimated at $35 billion, down 10% from the same period in 2019, and the worst case exports are only about $300-310 billion.
