Affected by the epidemic situation, the consultation group meeting of the international cotton association cooperation committee (cicca) was held in the form of an online meeting on June 16. China Cotton Association, as a member of cicca, attended the meeting.

The meeting deliberated and passed the summary of the plenary meeting of cicca in 2021 and the financial report. The International Cotton Association (ICA) reported to cicca that the South Korean Textile Association (swak) and the Bangladesh Textile Manufacturers Association (BTMA) reported to cicca that the interests of textile enterprises were damaged because some cotton merchants did not timely inform the relevant situation of cargo shipping delay.

ICA reminds that in the current situation of poor international logistics transportation, the buyer and the seller should timely communicate with each other on any change of shipping or freight information, so as to avoid possible disputes.

Cicca reminds all member associations to focus on the prevention of trade risks after the fall of cotton prices in the future under the current situation of high international cotton prices. In addition, the meeting also communicated with the delegates on the progress of the event that Turkish customs required 14 days' plant quarantine certificate for imported goods, as well as the cicca default enterprise reporting system.
