Science and technology is the primary productive force and the key force to drive the revolutionary breakthrough of all elements and scenes of the industry. In order to meet the demand for high-quality development of the textile industry and promote scientific and technological progress in the textile machinery industry, the "China Textile Machinery Industry Science and Technology Conference" and the "Third Meeting of the 26th China Textile Engineering Society Textile Machinery Equipment Professional Committee" were held in Wuhan on August 30, 2024. Since this year, the capacity utilization rate of the textile industry has remained at a high level, and the production growth has been relatively stable. Supported by the orderly operation of the supply chain, the gradual recovery of domestic and foreign market demand and other factors, the industrial added value of textile enterprises above the national scale in the first half of the year increased by 4.6% year on year, and the profit growth rate increased by 21.1% year on year. The growth rate has rebounded significantly from the same period last year. At the same time, the domestic demand market grew steadily, and the export situation was better than expected.

"Since this year, the overall operation of the textile industry has shown a steady and good trend, and the main indicators have improved year on year." Xu Yingxin, vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, said at the meeting.
It is reported that from January to July this year, the total export volume of national textiles and clothing exceeded 170 billion US dollars, up 1.3% year on year, and the competitiveness of the textile industry chain continued to release. In addition, investment confidence has been strengthened, and investment growth has maintained rapid growth. In the first half of the year, the completed investment in fixed assets of textile, clothing and chemical fiber industries increased by 14.3%, 14% and 6.4% respectively year on year.
Xu Yingxin also said that the future development of the industry will still face many uncertainties and unstable factors, and the industry should increase its efforts to promote high-quality development. It includes large capacity Lyocell fiber complete equipment for key projects of textile green production equipment, polyester woven fabric and knitted fabric continuous dyeing production line, and waste polyester textile chemical continuous regeneration complete equipment. Hou Xi said that the green development of the textile machinery industry in the future will mainly focus on green production equipment such as the complete set of equipment for recycling waste textiles, the complete set of equipment for one-time forming of jet printing, and the production line for continuous dyeing of knitted fabrics. In terms of intelligence, it mainly focuses on intelligent textile equipment such as high-speed filament winding head and short process spinning equipment, textile intelligent detection equipment such as chemical fiber detection equipment and fabric detection equipment, and textile dedicated robots.
