    Deng Zhongmin introduced that "seamless" is not without gaps, but the whole garment is not sewn and formed in one piece. In recent years, the full shape knitting technology has set off a new round of technology boom in the knitting industry. It uses machines to knit, eliminating the intermediate links of weaving, cutting, printing and so on, and directly weaves clothing from yarn. However, this kind of fully formed structure can not be realized in general warp knitting machines, the key reason is that the knitting needles do not match.

    The knitting needle is like a chip in a mobile phone, which is the core component. The knitting needle of traditional warp knitting machine can only move left and right, so its flexibility and flexibility are poor. Deng Zhongmin's team has developed a Jacquard knitting machine, which can operate in multiple gears, multiple modes, double lateral shifts, etc., and can achieve more than 600 revolutions per minute, equivalent to 20 traditional spinning machines working at the same time. The yarn guide needle has high flexibility, even the silk like yarn will not break and knot.

    The team also developed for it the first intelligent design platform dedicated to knitting and warp knitting industry - warp knitting CAD/CAM system. With it, the size does not need to be used. Just use your mobile phone or camera to capture the human body image, and the size can be automatically extracted. No matter how complex patterns and soft fabrics are, only input data and instructions in the system, you can "yarn in, clothes out".

    "The clothes and trousers woven by knitting warp knitting machines are more suitable for the body shape, without the trouble of thread opening. Because there is no seam, the waterproof and thermal insulation properties of the clothes are also stronger." Ke Wei, a team member and associate professor of the Textile Institute, introduced that this technology is not only applicable to ordinary fibers, but also to natural fibers, high-performance chemical fibers and other special fibers, with a very broad application prospect.

    The integrated knitting technology has won the second prize of Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. At present, it has been applied in Hubei, Jiangsu, Fujian, Guangdong and other provinces to produce warm clothing, warm underwear and other products suitable for extreme cold conditions. Zhou Liangping, the person in charge of Hubei Jintai Knitting Co., Ltd., said that since the introduction of the integrated textile system in 2022, the production efficiency has increased by about 50%, and more than 200 pieces of clothing can be produced a day. The quality and profit of clothing have improved, and customized production can also be carried out according to customer orders.    

    Deng Zhongmin said that the team gathered experts in image detection, antibacterial functional fiber, nano fiber materials, clothing structure design and other fields, will continue to explore the integrated technology research and development of "integrated molding technology+digital design+functional material innovation", try to weave conductive fiber into integrated woven clothing, develop self heating clothing Exoskeleton clothing and intelligent textiles that can monitor heart rate and respiratory rate make intelligent textiles truly enter public life.
