Xiang Bingwei: From Tailoring To Company Boss

From the little tailor on the road to the shop, he walked ten years, from the small clothing factory to the professional clothing company boss, he has gone through ten years; from the head of the clothing company to the big boss of the group company, he has gone through ten years.

In the 30 years of reform and opening up, the 52 year old has completed the pformation from tailoring to the company's big boss.

On the day of the third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee 1978, Xiang Bingwei, 22, was cooking stove for his neighbor in Nanzheng County, Shaanxi province.

At that time, he was already a famous Mason in the local area. He was inventions by the local people.

However, for a long time, his waist and spine strain has been getting heavier and heavier.

Soon after he had heard a new sewing shop in the town of Xiangshui temple, the owner and his family were old acquaintances, so he started a little tailoring career by carrying a broken sewing machine on his back.

In the early 80s of last century, the private economy began to revive in the south of Shaanxi Province, which has disappeared for more than 20 years.

Bell bottoms, suits and long shawls appear on the streets.

In order to learn the craft, he found a small facade room for Bing Wei, and asked his friend to write "8 pieces of tailoring, sewing, renovation and aging" on a piece of cardboard.

After 30 years, he said to Bing Wei, "at that time, I didn't expect to develop from sewing to patchwork."

In 1984, a company in Hanzhoung made a batch of old suits made in Japan, dumping them at a price of 15 yuan, and buyers gathered.

"I must make Chinese people wear Western suits made by Chinese people."

At this point, Xiang Bingwei, who had only read 4 years ago, began to focus his attention on the production of western style clothes by reading some fashion books.

In order to attract customers, he changed the name of the door to a formal shop name "new era clothing store".

Because the clothes he made fit, people who looked for him to make suits often crowded the shops.

In 1987, with the loan of 5000 yuan, the Hanzhoung Wei Zhi suit factory was formally established, and turned from a sewing shop owner to a factory director. His suit production was also extended from manual workshop to assembly line operation.

"Weizhi Western-style clothes factory" is growing step by step with the support of policy support and the care of the local government with stable production input, good quality and model tax paying households' image.

"The biggest opportunity for me is 1992," he said.

Xiang Bingwei said, "Deng Xiaoping's speech on the South inspection raised the status of private enterprises from a useful supplement to an important part, making China's private economy strong and vigorous after three years of wandering."

In September of that year, "Weizhi Western-style clothes factory" was renamed "Shaanxi Weizhi Garments Co., Ltd." and served as general manager of Bing Wei.

He opened the first branch of the South Shaanxi small factory to the busy East Street in Xi'an.

In July 1998, the Limited by Share Ltd of Shaanxi Weizhi group was successfully listed and became chairman of the group company.

This share system reform not only rammed the foundation of the future development of the Weizhi group, but also withstood the huge impact on the clothing industry from the Southeast Asian financial crisis. The enterprises expanded more than 400 franchised stores in the provinces of Shanxi and Henan.

Today, Weizhi group has developed into a large enterprise with 1800 employees, annual sales revenue of over 300 million yuan, and profits and taxes of 30 million yuan.

After 30 years of reform and opening up, I grew up with my business.
