80% Of Us Manufactured Goods Will Be Duty-Free After The US Columbia Trade Promotion Agreement Takes Effect.
When the US Columbia Trade Promotion Agreement comes into effect, 80% of the US consumer goods and manufactured goods exported to Columbia will be immediately exempted from customs duties, including almost all technical information products; mining, agriculture, building equipment, medical and scientific equipment, auto parts, paper products, and chemical products.
The rest of the tariffs will be abolished in 10 years.
The competitiveness of US farmers and ranchers will be greatly improved, and at the same time, they will benefit from zero tariff treatment. At present, 77% of us exported agricultural products will receive zero tariff treatment.
The main agricultural products exported to the United States are cotton, wheat, soybeans, quality beef, apples, pears, peaches, cherries and apricots. All these products will be exempted as long as the agreement comes into force.
Columbia will gradually abolish all other agricultural tariffs in 19 years.
