At the same time, Guangdong's products imported from Malaysia are also dominated by mechanical and electrical products. In the 1-7 months of this year, 4 billion 190 million dollars were imported, an increase of 17.4%, accounting for 71.2% of Guangdong's imports from Malaysia.

In the 1-7 month of this year, Guangdong imported 391 thousand tons of refined oil from Malaysia, a rapid increase of 65.7%, and 53 thousand tons of imported liquefied petroleum gas and other hydrocarbon gas increased by 3.8 times.

The potential for cooperation between Guangdong and Malaysia in agriculture has also been gradually highlighted.

It is understood that Malaysia is the largest producer of palm oil in the world, and with the rapid development of the food processing industry in Guangdong, the demand for palm oil in Malaysia is becoming more and more intense.

In 1-7, Guangdong imported 443 thousand tons of palm oil from Malaysia, accounting for 68.2% of Guangdong's palm oil imports over the same period.

In addition, the amount of other agricultural products imported from Guangdong amounted to US $340 million, a substantial increase of 45.4%, of which the imports of logs, sawn timber and natural rubber reached 100 thousand cubic meters, 99 thousand cubic meters and 17 thousand tons respectively.

ASEAN has gradually become a new growth market for textile and clothing exports in Guangdong after Europe and the United States have set quotas for China's exports of textiles and clothing.

In the 1-7 months of this year, the export of clothing and accessories in Guangdong to Malaysia was $310 million, more than doubled from the same period last year, and the export of textile yarn, fabrics and articles to horses increased by 63.8%.

In addition, footwear exports to horses increased by 7.9%, and furniture to horse exports increased by 65.6%.

The Customs said that Guangdong and Malaysia still have great room for development in terms of their mutual trade in traditional commodities.
