Knowledge Introduction Of Us Customs
If you are a conscientious importer, you probably know a lot about the US customs.
You know how to pay taxes and how to fill in tax forms.
But do you know what is "auxiliary" equipment?
Do you know how to import royalty, license fee and buyer's entrustment into your tariff Processor?
If you don't know, Gerard McManus, executive vice president and customs broker of the BDP international company, Philadelphia, will advise you to quickly understand.
Importers, today, especially with the increasingly sophisticated means adopted by the US customs, should also bear in mind the relevant import regulations.
Mcmanus's main view is: for every import company, "anyone must perform their duties" and abide by the customs regulations, otherwise they will not pass.
Moreover, the customs will punish the company by fines or criminal law, or leave a rigorous investigation team to investigate the commodities.
The entrustment tariff processor is something that comes with the importer, but they often neglect to import the letter of appointment from the purchaser.
It is only when looking for suppliers that a letter of appointment can be sent to overseas clerks.
A letter of appointment may be used to deduct commodity tariffs, but a written agreement must be signed with the clerk.
In addition, "auxiliary" equipment is often ignored by importers.
What is "auxiliary" equipment?
Ancillary equipment is a free, discounted goods or service provided by the purchaser to the supplier to help the production of goods.
For example, you import film projectors from Japan, but you want to deliver the lenses produced by the United States to Japan. The value of the projector you deliver is not 100 dollars, but 111 dollars (including 10 dollars lens and 1 dollars for lens freight).
But because lenses are American products, if you declare them, you may be exempt from customs duties.
This is a kind of tax-free auxiliary equipment.
Of course, there are also auxiliary equipment for tax payment.
Let's take the projector as an example.
Now, you have to send the projector from the United States to Indonesia. For the sake of production, some equipment must be pported from there to the other side.
At this point, you must declare "auxiliary" equipment, pay tariffs according to the rules of common accepted items, and include pportation costs.
But if you make the workers more comfortable and deliver air conditioning to the factory in Indonesia, the air conditioner will not be an auxiliary equipment.
Because air conditioning can not be used for projector manufacturing.
