Tanning enterprises in Shenzhen are mainly concentrated in Ping Di, Keng Zi and Henggang streets in the Longgang area.

Recently, I visited several tanning enterprises in the horizontal ridge industrial zone. The busy and prosperous days were no longer in harmony with the revival and prosperity of spring.

It is understood that the tanning plant in the Cross Ridge Industrial Park now has only about 6 left and right sides to produce normally, most of which are paralyzed, and some factories have been relocated for a long time.

The 6 factories that are still producing normally are long, deep dragon, Shuanglong, Jian Cheng, upsurge, Ruihua and so on.

Among them, tanneries invested and built sewage treatment plants, so the water field is still running, and other manufacturers have basically stopped production because they do not have sewage treatment equipment. Some people suggest that sewage should be treated by factories as a substitute, but basically no one has considered the scale and cost.

Deep dragon and Shuanglong are two fur and leather factories. They are invested by a boss. They also have their own sewage treatment equipment, because their factories are mainly made of processed fur and leather, to a certain extent, it is easier to handle than tanning.

The water plants of the 3 factories, such as strong, rising and Ruihua, have basically been closed, but the finishing is still continuing.

According to factory insiders, in fact, some factories did not abolish the water field, but moved to the border areas near Dongguan and Huiyang. There were also several mountain slopes from the Cross Ridge, where tanneries were not strictly controlled.

Some manufacturers directly cooperate with other tanneries in the field so that the water works can be completed in other factories, and the workers themselves bring them along.

In the survey, I found that many manufacturers were not busy due to the lack of competitors. Instead, they looked very cold and asked why. A person in charge said, "the water field has been shut down, it is difficult to place orders now, and the orders received are subject to many restrictions."

According to the person in charge, due to the recent financial crisis, the order declined significantly compared with last year. The opening time of the factory has been slightly delayed this year, but there is still nothing to do.

At this time of the year, in addition to catching up with previous orders, we had to deal with many new orders. The workers were very busy. There was an endless stream of vehicles coming and going from factories to factories. Such a scene has not yet appeared this year. It is not easy to say when to recover.

But if there is no order in the long run, the workers will have nothing to do, and the factories will have to pay the high cost of rent, water and electricity, staff salaries and so on. In the long run, closing factories is inevitable.

During the most prosperous period, 20 tanneries were gathered in the horizontal ridge industrial zone, including the Lida tanning factory, which is known as the "Asian leather king", but the factory was forced to shut down 2 years ago. The reason is that Lida Tat's suspected joint venture company has been arrested and taken care of by the customs and state departments concerned.

According to people familiar with the matter, the leather goods of the joint agency sealed up by the customs were up to tens of millions of feet.

At the end of the last century, it was the golden age of the whole leather industry in Shenzhen. The small factory shipped ten thousand or twenty thousand feet a day, while the large factories were more, such as the joint venture company, which could produce more than 100 thousand feet of cowhide every day during rush hour.

Today, the Shenzhen Municipal People's government and the environmental protection department have imposed a mandatory policy on polluting industries to shut down the water sector, and the global financial turmoil has left this grand event no more. It is difficult for many factories to produce more than 100 thousand feet per month.

Most factories choose to buy leather materials directly from Henan, Shandong and Inner Mongolia for finishing, then provide them to Longgang, Guangzhou or Dongguan shoe factories, luggage factories and belt factories.

From the conversation, we learned that many small tanneries and processing workshops in Shenzhen have heard the wind and shut the doors.

Some of them were depressed, and the enterprises looking for a way out took the opportunity to switch to other businesses.

To a certain extent, this is a way to avoid risks. Those who are still struggling to keep up are still waiting for the tannery industry in the spring.

Leather sales in Longgang also go from bad to worse.

In Longgang, a relatively concentrated place of sale, Longgang Collection Silver Leather center, I randomly interviewed several shops.

Such a sales circle, which is composed of leather, hardware, electronics, clothing and so on, presents a spectacle of nowhere but customers who come to shopping. The boss in the shop seems listless, playing games or playing cards or gossiping to kill time. When asked whether the leather sales are good, many people come up and pour bitter water on them.

The former owner of the people and leather industry, who graduated from normal university, has been in business for many years and has been doing business in a smooth wind. Now he finds it hard to keep up.

A female saleswoman of Geely leather is still actively cleaning up the goods. Although she takes a wait-and-see attitude toward the future, she is still very confident. She told me that leather industry has only been started after the end of the year, but it is not yet able to predict the market, but there will always be sales, because consumption needs everywhere.

Mr. Wang, the owner of Hong Rui leather, is a real Wenzhou businessman. When I went to interview, I happened to be in charge of a leather plastic company in Quanzhou.

They mainly produce PU, PVC artificial leather suitable for clothing, shoes, bags, furniture, decoration and other industries, which are exactly the materials of Wang boss.

In exchange, Wang boss had no idea of placing orders, so the boss of Quanzhou had to resentfully return.

According to Wang boss, this year's business is much worse than last year. They have closed in the store in Southern China, so there is no need for goods.

When the market is good, orders can't be finished at the end of the year, but this year, there is no order at all.

Wang said that the profits of the leather industry are between 10% and 30%, and if they sell thousands of dollars a day, they will not be guaranteed enough.

Moreover, there is still a few days of no opening, and last year when it sold well, it could sell about one hundred thousand yuan a day.

In Southern China City, Shenzhen, the international leather and leather goods and raw materials trading center is also a deserted scene.

I found that more than half of leather and fur stalls were shut down, and some of the stalls were still open.

A boss who made thin leather business told the author that many businessmen had gone home. They had to go back after the contract was expired, and the situation was hard to predict.

"I mainly cooperate with export factories. This year's situation needs not to be said much. Next, I want to go back to the mainland."

Of course, not all leather enterprises are so depressed, but also have the opposite trend of enterprises, almost not affected by the financial turmoil.

The owner of Wenzhou Wang said that some companies that had good product quality, high integrity, flexible sales and fast turnover of capital were still making money as always.

Whether or not the real situation of leather production and marketing is good or bad is not regulated, but it is unquestionable that the economic cold winter seems to be continuing. How can Longgang leather industry survive and develop in the cracks, and usher in another spring of 100 industries, and we must make more articles in terms of product quality, industrial structure, sales and so on.
