With the continuous intensification of international trade barriers, trade frictions and disputes gradually increase, and "made in Taizhou" has not been able to stand alone.

Since January 1, 2002, our city has encountered the United States, the European Union, India, Canada, Brazil and so on.

According to the analysis, the "two counter two guarantees" and "337" investigation cases initiated by the United States and the European Union account for 54.8% of the total number of cases involved and become the main source countries.

At present, Taizhou enterprises have responded to the "two counter two guarantees" investigation cases, up to 11 cases, and the total number of respondent enterprises totals 41, and the total amount of cases should be 170 million dollars, accounting for 74% of the cases involved.

According to the data provided by the Municipal Bureau of foreign trade and economic cooperation, 60 cases of foreign anti-dumping investigations have been encountered in our city since 2002, accounting for 69% of the total number of cases involved; 234 enterprises involved, accounting for 64.8% of the total number of enterprises involved; the amount involved was 100 million 900 thousand US dollars, accounting for 43.9% of the total amount involved.

"Responding to anti-dumping investigations will become the focus of fair trade in our city in the current and future period."

Zhang Xi, deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of foreign trade and economic cooperation, said.

"Taizhou is facing more and more frequent international trade frictions, and the proportion of the total number of cases in the province is bigger and bigger, and the situation is quite grim."

Zhang Xi said that 7 cases of trade friction occurred in our city last year, accounting for 10% of the total number of cases in the province, and 11 in the first half of this year, the proportion rose to 20%.

Why is "made in Taizhou" repeatedly subjected to trade barriers?

Obviously, our city's trade friction cases are mainly concentrated on the labor-intensive industries such as electromechanical and light industries.

These industries are characterized by low technology content and weak competitiveness, mainly relying on price competition, so they are vulnerable to anti-dumping and other trade barriers.

In fact, at present, most of the export products of our city are basically complementary to those of developed countries such as Europe and the United States, but relations with many developing countries are not just partners or competitors.

In the international market, many developing countries are dealing with resource intensive and labor-intensive products.

Take Argentina as an example, because the market capacity of the country is small, the products are similar to Taizhou, and the appreciation of the renminbi will influence the products of Taizhou.

"From the national level, these enterprises or products with low price competitiveness and relatively weak competitiveness are suffering from trade friction."

Zhang Xi said, "of course, behind this is the rise of international trade protectionism."

"China has now become the world's largest exporter and the second largest importer in the world, and international trade barriers and trade frictions will inevitably be faced in the future."

Xia Youfu, an expert at the Open Economics Institute of University of International Business and Economics, points out that the core competitiveness of Taizhou's products and technology is generally lacking. Many enterprises have become accustomed to low price competition strategy, and more importantly, many SMEs lack the awareness of international competition, especially when faced with the pressure of different legal provisions in developing countries and international competitors, many people can only sit still.

How to make a tight encirclement of "made in Taizhou"

Regardless of the outcome of these trade frictions, the process has caused varying degrees of loss to the development of enterprises.

To help enterprises avoid trade barriers, the government takes the initiative.

In March 2007, the Municipal Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau and the China Technical Trade Measures Research Center of University of International Business and Economics initiated the early warning and quick response mechanism of Taizhou's export trade barriers, so that the coverage of the city's early warning products reached over 80%.

At the same time, our city has successively built 7 provincial-level foreign trade early warning demonstration sites. At the end of this year, we will also implement the foreign trade warning and demonstration points for key industries and sensitive products, covering all the counties and cities in the whole city.

"Through scientific research and innovation, improving our competitiveness is the fundamental way for enterprises to avoid trade barriers."

Zhang Xi said that the invisible trade barrier provided a forced mechanism for our export-oriented enterprises, forcing pformation and upgrading.

Compared with the traditional piston type air compressor, the new air compressor developed by Xin Lei is not only completely innovative in structure, but also more energy saving and environmental protection, with low noise and high accuracy, and mechanical efficiency increased by 5%, and the volume of the two air compressors is about 20%, which is the leading level of the world air compressor industry.

At present, the "Xin Lei" new products have applied for domestic patents, and the price in the international market has increased by 30% compared with the old ones.
