    It should be noted that considering the price from the quotation to the paction, it is still a long time to get the goods ready for shipment, and the sea freight is fluctuating frequently, sometimes even as high as one hundred or two hundred US dollars / container.

    Even so, many freight forwarders can only accurately quote freight rates within a month, and exporters still have to leave some room for themselves.

    The above "finding the best" for finding goods is not just about price.

    In fact, many times, the quality of freight forwarding service is much more important than the price difference of ten dollars.

    A good freight forwarder can provide freight information timely, make emergency booking, and solve unexpected accidents in the course of pportation.

    Freight forwarders are not all ports around the world.

    According to his top level partners, each has its own expertise advantages.

    Shipping routes are generally divided into regions, including North America, South America, Australia and New Zealand, Japan and South Korea, India and Southeast Asia, Middle East, Mediterranean, Europe and so on.

    We might as well ask for comparison and choose different freight forwarders for different market routes.

    The ports on each route are divided into basic ports (large main ports) and non basic ports.

    The basic port facilities are good, the number of voyages is large, the freight rates are cheap, not the basic ports are easy to jam, the voyages are few, and the freight rates are more expensive.

    For example, Rotterdam ROTTERDAM in Europe, Hamburg HAMBUG are famous European basic ports (line numbering referred to as Euro base port, EUROPEAN MAIN PORT abbreviated as EMP).


    After determining the approximate shipment date, you can book the cargo to the freight forwarder.

    According to the name, quantity, volume, weight, destination port, etc., fill in the booking form or send it directly to the freight forwarder.

    If it is the whole cabinet, the freight forwarder will arrange the time for adjusting the container, container trailer and loading time. If it is a counter, the forwarder will provide "enter warehouse receipt" and notify the exporter to deliver the goods to the designated warehouse before the agreed time limit.

    Shipping must pay attention to the time limit.

    For example, it is expected that the ship sailing in September 10th will be two or three days in advance, or around 8 days, as a "cut-off period", that is, goods must be completed before the customs clearance declaration matters, otherwise it can not release shipment.

    After the goods are shipped or shipped to the freight forwarders, the freight forwarder arranges the declaration and shipment.

    After shipment, the freight forwarder gives us the Bill of Loading (B/L) as the evidence of real right and the basis for taking delivery.

    We will deliver the bill of lading to the foreign customers. When the goods arrive at the port of destination, the customer will go to the terminal to pick up the goods on the basis of the bill of lading.

    This is the most basic process.


    Occasionally, there will be special cases. The bill of lading may not be issued in time and sent to the consignee for some reasons. And we agree that the customer (consignee) can pick up the goods, so that the freight forwarder can be authorized to give the customer no pick-up in the form of telegraphic notice.

    This operation is called Telex Release, and no bill of lading will be issued. It has to be withdrawn.

    But this is a special case.

    Under the condition of FOB, booking by foreign customers and telling us the way of freight forwarding to undertake the business, we have to handle pportation and jargon called "designated freight forwarding".

    Because ocean freight is paid by foreign customers after the destination port, so it is called "Freight Collect".

    Under the CNF/CIF condition, we book our own cabin and pay the cost, which is called Freight Prepaid.

    Payment or prepayment will be indicated on the bill of lading.

    For reasons that can be understood, who is going to book the cabin, who is the freight forwarding customer, the freight forwarder is more enthusiastic and considerate to the customers.

    Is it good to book the cabin yourself? There are risks too.

    Because the shipping cost of ocean going shipping is fluctuating, and sometimes the fluctuation is very strong. The freight rate of a container to European port will increase by one thousand or two thousand yuan or more in just two or three months.

    If CNF/CIF is to be done, it must bear the risk, while foreign customers assume it under the FOB condition.

    Therefore, many exporters still like to make FOB, so that when the Ningbo foreign trade and Economic Commission organizes enterprises to open up the international market, it is easy to see the slogan "FOB Ningbo" as a propaganda slogan.
