A survey conducted by the textile and tobacco Union found that the wages of workers in textile and garment enterprises were generally low and some of them were living in difficulty.

It is understood that the wages of textile and garment enterprises have been increasing in recent years, but the growth rate is still lower than the average wage growth rate of all urban employees.

In 2009, the average wage of the workers in the textile, clothing, footwear and hat industry was only 62.35% of the average wage of the workers in the whole town.

Research shows that the minimum wage standard has become the standard of wage payment for enterprises, and the role of wage guidance lines is not obvious, which is the main reason that restricts the increase of employees' income in textile and garment enterprises.

To this end, the China finance, trade, light textile and tobacco trade union will jointly push forward the collective wage consultation work of the garment industry jointly with the China Textile Industry Association this year to raise the wages of the workers in textile and garment enterprises.
