The shoe shining lady in the street gave me inspiration to start a business.
When I graduated in 1997, I also wanted to find a decent white-collar job.
Before I started my own business, I had done two stable jobs, one was a company clerk and the other was the information desk. The salary was 500 yuan, which was more than that of the previous one.
If I hadn't met an old lady that afternoon, maybe my life would continue the same track.
I was about to go out that day and saw a woman who stalls. I thought she was still doing it at her age.

I was holding the poor old man's mindset. I never expected her income to be twice as high as mine.

First, do market research after thinking.
When I had the idea of opening a shop, I went to the streets every day to observe how the shoeshine workers worked, what kind of people the tourists were, where the shoeshers were concentrated, which guests did not think or were afraid to excavate, and I put them all on the small book as the initial accumulation of entrepreneurship.
Shoeshine is an insignificant job in the eyes of many people. My parents listened to my idea at the time and thought I was having a problem. After reading it for several years, I could think of doing this.
They said, if friends and relatives ask about my work, how do they open their mouths?
My girlfriend's leaving also poured cold water on me.
But I think I have a right idea.
High grade shoes
The cleaning and maintenance at that time was a blank. Now people live well, many people's shoes are not cheap, they do not want to give it to those who do not know how to do it. This is a big market. Why don't I dig the first pot of gold from here?
You can't find a partner in the hotel restaurant.
3 months later, I quit my job and buried myself in writing for a week. I produced a detailed plan of cooperation and marked the high-end business place on the map and began to look for partners.
At that time, people in Chengdu still felt that it was difficult to polish shoes. The existence of shoemaker was confined to a small restaurant on the street.
Several times, when I walked to the lobby, I was greet by the courtesy, courtesy. "Behind the hall, I heard the ridicule of the lobby lady." "this person has lost his head."
If they knew I was a college student, I might be more surprised.
For a period of time, I went to that high grade teahouse for a period of time. After a week, the manager finally relaxed to see me. He carelessly turned over my plan and said, "boy, believe me, you are going to Chengdu, and no manager would like to cooperate with you."
The manager made no mistake. I ran around the famous hotel and teahouse in Chengdu, but I still got nothing.
5 yuan to wipe the shoes once, the first customer gave 10 yuan.
Since there are no high-end sites willing to cooperate with me, I decided to adopt the way of saving the nation by curves, and start "primitive accumulation" from my own stall.
Chengdu's Tai Sheng Nan road is a famous newsletter street. Every day people come and go, and also a gathering place for many bosses. I want to catch them to build my special customer group.
In March 17, 1998, I sold the pager, and put up a set of shoe polishing tools, standing on the edge of Tai Sheng Nan Road, shouting loudly: "shoeshine, 5 yuan once!" {page_break}
At that time, the people who were watching around were thinking that their ears were wrong. The shoe market on the street was 1 yuan.
Whenever someone asks the price, I repeat it very clearly, and declare that I will not wear cheap shoes.
A more than 50 year old gentleman became my first guest. He wanted to wipe out the 800 yuan "old man" on his feet.
To tell you the truth, I was very nervous at that time, but I didn't mention money any more. I put on cotton gloves and put out a row of soft and hard shoe brushes and began to work.
After half an hour, it was finished. The gentleman looked at it with his shoes, and then touched 10 yuan and handed it to me: "boy, your work is worth 10 yuan!"
To this day, I have been saving this 10 yuan. It has brought me great confidence and courage.
Take the first step steadily and climb up to the 100 level one day.
On the first day of training, I earned 85 yuan, much better than I expected.
Over the past 6 years, this number has been rising. I have completed my first 5 year plan: to buy a house in Chengdu.
Now I am running towards the second five year plan of life: expanding the scale of star chains.
Recently, I have received calls from all over Zhejiang, Fujian and Sichuan every day.
I think the professional counterpart is the best, but if you are good at using your brain, you can learn to use your professional knowledge even if you haven't done the right job at the same time. For example, the shoeshine shoes that I have done and I didn't seem to have any boundaries with the major of marketing, but in the process of shoeshine shops, I always use the marketing strategies that I learned at school, such as choosing which lots to set up shop, opening market, pre market investigation, and customer psychology.
If I hadn't learned these things, I might have been an ordinary shoemaker of "one yuan and one pair".
I think that college students are a bit like the products produced by schools. There must be a process of adaptation to the society. Nowadays, students are very opinionated. If we value our value well and step by step towards a clear goal, we will one day turn our dream into reality.
Nowadays, it is not easy for a college student to find a job that is particularly satisfactory. It's better to start a job before choosing a career. It's like a 100 staircase. Adjusting your mindset is like walking steadily on the first stage.
