The chemical industry is running smoothly and economically.

But China's energy consumption continues to grow rapidly and its dependence on foreign countries is expanding.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of industry and commerce, from 1 to May, China's apparent consumption of domestic oil reached 1.98 billion tons, up 10.3% from the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped by 1.6 percentage points from 1 to March. The apparent consumption of crude oil was 1.91 billion tons, an increase of 8.5%, an external deposit of 55.2%, surpassing that of the United States (53.5%), an apparent consumption of natural gas consumption of 52 billion 667 million cubic meters, a growth rate of 18.2%, and a sustained high growth rate; the apparent consumption of refined oil was 80 million tons, an increase over the same period last year.

Over the GDP growth rate, energy consumption has been growing too fast, which has brought enormous pressure to energy production, energy conservation and emission reduction.

According to the Ministry of industry and information, the apparent consumption of crude oil in the whole year is about 4.68 billion tons, an increase of 6.5% over the same period last year. The apparent consumption of natural gas is about 124 billion 600 million cubic meters, an increase of 16.1%. The apparent consumption of refined oil is about 2.67 million tons, an increase of 8.8%, of which the apparent consumption of diesel oil is about 172 million tons, an increase of 10.1%.
