Sichuan University Material And Leather Engineering Department Scholarship Award Ceremony

At 9:00 a.m. on December 12, 2007, China Leather Industry Association Scholarship, Jinjiang Xingye Leather Co., Ltd. scholarship, Derry leather technology Limited Scholarship and Southern China Leather Co., Ltd. scholarship award ceremony was held at C103, the comprehensive building of Jiang'an campus.

Guests and leaders attending the award ceremony were vice chairman of China Light Industry Federation, honorary president of China Leather Industry Association, Mr. Xu Yong, Deputy Secretary General of China Leather Industry Association, Mr. Chen Zhanguang, vice president of Luo Xing Feng Xu, Jinjiang Xingye Leather Co., Ltd., Professor Chen Wuyong, Dean of textile and Food College, and Liu Xiao Hu, deputy secretary of the textile and food college.

The award ceremony was chaired by Mr. Feng Guotao, and the 2006 level light engineering, light industry biotechnology and award-winning students from all grades attended more than 200 people.

Finally, Wang Xuan, the representative of the award-winning students from the 2006 grade light chemical engineering specialty, delivered a speech. In order to let our leather students know more about the development of the industry, China Leather Association has arranged two industry reports.

Mr. Xu Yong, honorary president of China Leather Association, delivered a lecture entitled "strengthening independent innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of leather featured areas".

President Xu introduced to students about the meaning, distribution, advantages and experience of leather featured areas, and the six points to enhance the competitiveness of leather characteristics.

He pointed out that the leather featured area is a new growth point for the development of China's leather industry and the foundation and main battlefield for changing the mode of development.

Through the support of the government and the guidance of the association, after 20 years of development, China has now formed ten leather and leather characteristics areas, namely, Wenzhou, "China Shoes Capital", Haining "China leather capital", Xinji "China leather leather capital", Chengdu Wuhou - "Chinese women's shoes city" and so on.

At the same time, the China Leather Association has further strengthened the assessment and supervision of production bases through industry standards, so as to promote the structural adjustment, market development and brand building of leather production bases and enhance their competitiveness.

We should make full use of the information superiority, professional supporting advantages and talent advantages of leather featured areas to enhance the core competitiveness of leather industry, so as to realize the "two pioneering work" of leather industry and pform China from a large leather producing country to a strong leather producing country, creating several well-known brands in the world.

Subsequently, Mr. Chen Zhanguang, Deputy Secretary General of China Leather Industry Association, made a special report on the development of environmental protection and leather industry.

Chen secretary general first used data to illustrate China's position in the international leather industry. China's leather output has accounted for more than 20% of the global leather output, and leather shoes account for more than 50% of the global leather shoes output. At present, China's leather industry is facing great challenges both at home and abroad, such as international technical barriers to trade, anti-dumping, and domestic challenges such as macroeconomic adjustment and environmental protection.

Especially in terms of environmental protection, after more than 20 years of development, China's leather industry has entered a mature stage of development from the initial stage of rapid development. The leather industry's awareness of environmental protection has been improved, pollution control technology has been improved, and environmental protection management has been intensified. A large number of non-standard small businesses are closed, industries tend to be standardized, leather fur centralized development, centralized sewage treatment and cleaner production technology have made great contributions to environmental protection.

The state has also issued many sewage discharge standards and related policies and measures, developing new production technologies and so on to reduce and control the pollution problems caused by the leather industry, so as to realize the sustainable development of leather industry.

The successful presentation of the award ceremony, especially the industry report, impressed the students and opened up the vision of everyone, so that the students have a deeper understanding and love for the leather industry. They will encourage our students in the biomass and Leather Engineering Department to love the leather industry and love their profession more diligently and diligently, so as to cope with the fierce competition and challenge in the leather industry with solid professional knowledge.
