From the data provided by Jin Shanfu, Secretary General of Yiwu socks industry association, the total export volume of the industry in the first half of this year is 240 million US dollars, less than 1/3 of last year's total.

"As the situation is critical, the industry immediately convened a meeting to discuss the response plan."

Jin Shanfu said, according to the analysis of the socks industry association, because of the extremely unstable international situation in the first half of the year and the decline in confidence in foreign trade export, most of the foreign buyers were "bargaining" to reduce the risk.

After a systematic analysis, hosiery enterprises soon discovered that cotton socks were mainly exported to our Hosiery Industry, but in the first half of this year, we concentrated on the export of women's stockings.

Since July, the export of hosiery enterprises has been rising, and a group of new forces have been growing rapidly. Many enterprises have already ranked among the "top ten" in the export of socks.

"In October, two foreign trade companies from Beijing, named the best stockings in Yiwu, showed that Yiwu stockings were very good in foreign word of mouth."

Jin Shanfu said, "fortunately, the volume of exports in the third quarter has been completely reversed, and we are relieved."

Data show that the export volume of the third quarter has been rising continuously, which is equivalent to the export volume in the first half of the year.

Two steps for early warning and upgrading of "export protection"

It is reported that Yiwu's knitwear foreign trade early warning and demonstration point is set up in the Yiwu Hosiery Industry Association. In the fourth and fifth bulletin issued in October and November this year, it is pointed out: "the economic situation in Europe and the United States is still grim, and foreign trade exports should be handled cautiously".

In addition to analyzing the international situation and paying attention to the export information of customs, the early warning demonstration points also provide reference information for the export of Yiwu knitting enterprises, combined with the issuance of Yiwu letter insurance company and economic investigation and early warning information.

"Although exports are difficult, we have our own advantages."

From the data point of view, in the 1-10 months of this year, the total number of socks exports in the whole industry was 1 billion 707 million pairs, down 17.86% from the same period last year. But surprisingly, the export volume was 542 million dollars, an increase of 1.7% over the same period last year.

"This shows that after upgrading our products, we will no longer win by volume, but win by quality, and have bargaining power in the world, so as to win the right to speak for Chinese socks."

However, according to Jin Shanfu, the acquisition of discourse power is not easy.

At home, labor shortage, the price of raw and auxiliary materials and the acceleration of RMB appreciation have caused the difficulties of foreign trade enterprises, which has directly led to the increase of product costs and the increase of export pressure.

Timely guarantee of exports and upgrading of products become the only way for enterprises.

"Last month, when we went to understand the export situation, we found that they bought a bunch of socks abroad to study."

Jin Shanfu said that Yiwu socks enterprises are using their own methods to deal with the crisis, increase investment in science and technology, study creative design and foreign demand in depth, expand the coverage of exporting countries, and expand the market of Taros, Southeast Asia, South America, Africa and other countries and regions on the basis of consolidating the European and American markets.

In addition to product upgrading, enterprises are also very concerned about the upgrading of the trade situation.
