Last January 14th, the GB issued the national basic safety technical specification for textile products, which will take the place of GB18401-2003's "basic safety technical specification for national textile products" and make some changes to the original regulations. The new regulation clearly shows that the age of infants and young children is changed from 24 months to 36 months, that is to say, children under 3 years old and below belong to infants and young children. They can only wear or use textile products of infants and young children, that is, products of safety category a.

The new regulation was originally implemented in August 11, 2011 to extend children's lives.

The pitional period was revised to be formally implemented in August 1st this year.

After more than a year's "makeover", Chengdu

On the contrary, the Chengdu Commercial Daily reporter came to the children's clothing store near the summer socks street, where a lot of private children's clothing stores were gathered. The reporters went into the children's clothing store with their own brands to look for clothes for children aged 2~3, and the salesmen pointed to the colorful children's clothing. They told reporters that they were all children under 3 years old. But in a large number of children's wear, the reporter noticed that the safety class was marked with "a class". However, the salesmen also told the reporters confidently, "a class is for babies, B is for children, and C is for adults."

This situation not only appears in these private children's clothing stores, and even European and American brands also come to "join in the bustle". After visiting the Chengdu store, the reporter found that a price tag of 299 yuan for children's coat hanging tag marked the word "2-3" and "98cm". The salesperson explained that it was suitable for children aged under 2~3 and below 98cm height. At the same time, the category "C" was clearly shown in the category of safety. However, according to the new regulation, the products used for infants and young children under the height of 100cm and below can be used as infant textile products, and the words "baby products" should be marked on the instructions, but the reporters did not see them on the tag.

Similarly, the clothing brands involved in children's clothing are also Adidas.

Formaldehyde content difference 280 mg / kg

It is understood that the basic technical requirements of textile products are classified into A, B and C according to the formaldehyde content, pH value, odor and other indicators. It is worth noting that the new regulations specify that the formaldehyde content of class A is less than or equal to 20mg/kg, B class is less than or equal to 75mg/kg, while C class requires less than or equal to 300mg/kg.

Compared with A and C class, the difference between the formaldehyde content of the two requirements is 280mg/kg. The difference between the 280 mg/kg is very large for the formaldehyde content, said Zheng Qingkang, Professor of the school of textile and light industry of Sichuan University. Only those who are only 2~3 years old are likely to induce diseases if they wear the C clothing with high formaldehyde content for a long time.

"If children under 3 years of age wear clothes of class C, there is indeed potential danger," Wang Qian, editor in chief of the first textile network, also admitted to reporters. At the same time, he also said that according to the new regulations, children under 3 years old can only wear clothes with formaldehyde content below 20mg/kg, and C clothing can be regarded as a standard for children of this age group.
