As the traditional leading industry of Wang Jiang Jing, the textile industry has become the "heavy" business card of the Jingjiang town since the Southern Song Dynasty. The industrial development has formed a good clustering trend so far, forming modern textile industrial clusters such as weaving, chemical fiber, printing and dyeing, clothing production and so on. It is jointly awarded the honorary title of "China's weaving town" by the China Textile Industry Association and the China Cotton Textile Industry Association.

The textile industry accounts for 70% of the total industrial output, with an annual output of 3 billion 500 million meters of grey cloth and 2 billion 500 million meters of printing and dyeing. It is the fabric origin of the domestic specialized market of Shaoxing Textile City, Zhejiang, China, and also the production base of thin fabric in China.

In 2011, there were 31 textile enterprises of over 100 billion yuan, of which 2 were sold over 1 billion yuan.

It is understood that China Southern textile city has successfully held two trade fairs, including the "Shanghai fashion week Wang Jiangjing special fashion show", the Wang Jiangjing fabric production enterprise fashion show, the Wang Jiangjing fabric manufacturers and the Yangtze River Delta garment fabric buyers' meeting, and other activities, not only expanded the town's influence in the textile industry, enhanced the textile city's traction power to the entire textile industry, but also increased the driving force of the textile industry upgrading.

In 2009, China Southern Textile City, which was put into operation, now has 451 merchants, nearly 90% of shops open, and 5 billion yuan in 2010, and 6 billion 930 million yuan in 2011, an increase of 38.6% over the same period last year.

In the first 10 months of this year, although the economic situation is not optimistic, with the deepening of the pformation and upgrading of enterprises, the competitiveness of products has greatly improved, and the market still achieves a paction volume of 6 billion 530 million yuan.

The rapid development of Textile City in southern China has also been affirmed by the community. It has won the best commercial real estate projects in the Yangtze River Delta, the modern textile logistics demonstration platform, the ten most important professional markets in China, the Zhejiang provincial Market Association, and the Shanghai Textile Association governing unit.

At the fair, the Chinese fashion label company, the Jiaxing sub center of the national textile industry testing center and the Wang Jingjing branch of the national textile fabric Museum held the ceremony respectively.

At the fair, how to speed up the pace of industrial upgrading, to give new vitality to the traditional textile industry, and to enhance the value added of products has become a hot topic of discussion.

Fu Guangwei, deputy director of China Textile Information Center, who attended the opening ceremony, said that enhancing enterprise innovation capability is the only way for the pformation and development of textile industry.
