The main reason is that the implementation of the new national standard this year, the progress of public inspection is relatively slow; The detailed rules for collection and storage are more strict, while the quality of local cotton is lower than that in previous years, and the delivered reserves are significantly lower than that in the same period last year; In addition, the price of imported cotton is low. Most textile enterprises are using imported cotton with low cost and national reserve cotton.

Since October, the weather in Wuhan, Hubei Province has been sunny, which is conducive to cotton picking. At present, the local seed cotton picking progress has exceeded 85%. The listed seed cotton is mainly white cotton grade 4, and the mainstream purchase quotation of 400 enterprises is 3.90-4.02 yuan/jin (clothing percentage above 37%). Recently, many Henan cotton enterprises came here to purchase at a fixed price, with the purchase price of 3.95-3.98 yuan/jin (38% of lint percentage), and the purchase price of seed cotton with a lint percentage of more than 39% reached 4.10 yuan/jin. The purchase price was slightly higher than the local 400 type enterprises, with a daily purchase volume of about 30000 jin. Although the purchase price has slightly increased, due to the impact of the local cotton production reduction, cotton farmers are reluctant to sell, and cotton vendors are not buying enough. The profit from sales is generally less than 0.1 yuan/jin. The willingness to sell is not strong, and the cotton market is still cold.
